This is a big get for Sanders. If he can develop this kid and get him drafted in the first few rounds, you'll see more kids start going to them

Thats what our folks are saying.

Or he actually thinks he can just go to Jackson &Deion to get better prepared for the NFL but that would certainly be an unprecedented thing to do. Interesting.

Thought I read somewhere that their schedule starts in February. Maybe he’s just trying to get to the league ASAP.

We will be very short on experience at the corner position. The talent is there, just not the experience.

That said, if Campbell, DJ Daniel or Eric Stokes decide not go go pro early, it would help enormously.

But who in their right mind chooses the shithole of Jackson,MS over Athens,GA?

The towns aren't comparable. Jackson State is an urban school right on the fringe of the worst ghetto in America (west Jackson) according to the percentage of homicides, and Athens is medium sized college town. Maybe he just wants to be hard

Have you seen Kirby coaching DBs? Not looking good. So going to Jackson State will make him look better and get into the NFL easier.

Has UGA ever had any JUCO CBs that ever turned out good? I don't think so.

Are you forgetting that Kirby was the db coach at Bama? Or that he took a kid from Tulsa and got him to the league? Or that he's about to have 4 dbs drafted this year?

Get outta here with your bullshite.

He stopped coaching DBs at Alabama in 2009 but was assigned again in 2014 for one season. Jeremy Pruitt (2010-2012), Greg Brown (2013), and Mel Tucker (2015) were the primary DB coaches during Smart’s DC tenure. But he obviously was involved with their development as DC from 2008-2015.

Doesn’t Smart assign his DC position duties the same way? DC mainly coaching LBs?

I hear you. It definitely wasn't all him but I never saw a drop off when he was coaching them.

I could be incorrect, but I'm pretty sure he helps out with the dbs since we have an ILB and an OLB specific coach and Warren has all of the dbs himself.

Figured Ringo would start. What’s holding him back?
