Why not either Tony Elliott or Rodney Garner?

Coaches Tony Elliott and Rodney Garner are qualified, energetic and would create positive news for Auburn.

Elliot could be an option if/when he cuts his teeth as a HC at a smaller school. Promoting a position coach to a HC job at Auburn would be a disaster. Too many unknowns and the fanbase would revolt after dealing with Gus.

What head coach that is available would be an upgrade to Gus? Heck he had beaten most of the names I have seen under consideration. Also what successful head coach was not an assistant coach before he got a head coach position? Elliott and Garner are both very successful assistants with proven recruiting ability. The fact that they are first-class individuals is a bonus.

Elliot is not even the full OC. AU isn't Arkansas. I get your angle. Neither are qualified for the AU job.
