I know Tiffin's 52 yarder winning the Iron Bowl in 85 is still talked about a lot to this day. What that kick had going for it was Bama was trailing and it was the last play of the game so it was a true walkoff.

But this kick was longer, in denser air, and in the fog, and Florida had CFB playoff aspirations (Auburn was much better than Bama that year and had no business losing, but they didn't have any title aspirations). I'm not saying it should be above Tiffin's kick in SEC lore, but it's got to be at least in the same tier.

It was a bad arse kick, looked fricking awesome through the fog too. Glad Mullen called the timeout to give them time to set it up calmly.

Very high in terms of the upset and making the shoe throw a permanent part of SEC lore.

Plus, 57 yds in those conditions under that pressure is as clutch as it gets.

Wes Byrum had a pretty big field goal as time expired in the swamp (he made it twice if you remember Urban’s timeout). Florida was #4, and it was Tebow’s heisman year. They were defending national champions, and AU was a 3 touchdown underdog.

ETA: Urban was just as much of a c*nt as Mullen was last night.

Since they illegally placed the ball in relation to the hash mark, it won't rank at all.

1) Sarah Fuller’s pooch kick
2) Sarah Fuller’s extra point

Why is it that anything that takes away glory from Bama is treated as such a threat?

It was a helluva kick. I didn't think it had a chance but he nailed it. Then the UF kicker almost matched it. That was a ferocious kicking battle at the end. But LSU won by a shoe.

Not ready to say it's the greatest kick in conference history, but a 57-yarder to beat a CFP contender and prevent a complete collapse of your own team's season makes a strong case. I'd probably still rank Tiffin's higher, though, only because he had no TO to help him so he had to run right onto the field and kick, and it was the Iron Bowl.

Edited because I forgot time did not expire on his kick, it was just close.

Pretty much my thoughts. Like I said, trailing instead of tied and no time left puts it on top imo. But this one is definitely in the same tier. With all the context surrounding it, it's going to be something we bring up for years to come.

Yes, let's just conveniently ignore the previous 10 weeks of L1U constantly stating how this season doesnt count.
