First, I will say that I was finally off the bus after South Carolina game this year.

With that said, thank you, Gus

I know all the reasons why we need a change so don't need to go into those here. But I do appreciate that Gus gave us 2013 and another SECC appearance. I also appreciate how much he loved Auburn and his players and they always played hard for him.

Good luck, CGM.

Now, I just hope we make the right hire.

You can say a lot about his tenure but he ran the program with integrity. We rarely had any behavior issues under his watch.

If I were Vandy I’d hire him ASAP.

We all wanted Gus to work out. He loves Auburn and runs a clean program. After the NCG vs FSU it just started slowly going downhill. That game broke him.

Thanks Gus for the memories. Best of luck in the future.

Gus is mega wealthy and will be fine. He may have to go G5 for a year or take off a year but he will be at a P5 school in no time.

Agree. Glad he’s a rich man, he did some great things here. Just time for a change is all.

Like I said Gus will be in the P5. I know the VaTech folks were interested in him. I would try to land somewhere bigger if I were him.

Thank you Gus. That being said you were a subpar snake oil salesman and you set AU back due to never developing a proper QB.

KJ

In 2020, l found out something most of these coaches don’t care about their players, just the money. Find another college coach to care about their players as much as @CoachGusMalzahn did for us and ill be a fan. Its bigger than a record, its more in a locker-room than a record.

I don't disagree with that but as a Gus supporter it was time for a change just for the sake of change.

... as in a change can be good for everyone including Gus.

Look at Saban he had 4 HC gigs before landing his latest and best performance.

Gus ran a clean program and gave us some memorable games. He also seems like a good person. I wish him well, but it was time for a change.

Gus won more than Auburn does on average, beat Bama more than anyone else during his tenure, and ran a clean program, leaving whoever takes over in relatively good position. Zero ill will towards the man even if it was time for a change.
