I lost my 43 year wife last night and I am fighting temptations of ending my life. This is a cry for prayer. I keep finding reasons not to eat this whole bottle of Xanax and maybe I am just crying out for attention but I am broken and in bad shape. Please pray for me and my kids. I am completely broken and devastated. Thank you.

800-273-8255 <--- That's the suicide prevention hotline.

Call and talk to somebody. There's no shame in that. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Data that's awful and I'm so sorry. Your kids definitely need you and want you to be around - I can't imagine the pain you are in but I know that I've thought through that situation 1,000 times and I always think about how much I'd need the kids and the kids would need me.

There's no shame in that feeling - it means you had the type of relationship that God meant for you to have and others wish they could have had. Please call someone you love and just talk to them. We'll all be here praying for you.

Im praying for you and your family. I am sure your wife was a wonderful mother, wife, and person. As tough as it is she would want you to carry on for your family. You will be together again some day. Please hang in there.

Damn data... covid earlier this year, now this. I won't say your feelings are entirely misplaced, but your kids need you. Losing both parents would literally destroy your kids right now, and 0 chance this is what your wife would've wanted you to do. You are most definitely in my prayers.

Praying for you. I don’t know the pain and suffering you might be going through with the loss of your wife, but I hope that you find comfort with your kids. Just remember one day, you will be reunited with her. Praying.

My friend. I cannot fathom your pain but your kids need you around. Call someone just to talk. Hell, call me. I'm a complete stranger and by no means a councilor but I've got time for my fellow man.

Data, I’m so sorry for your loss.

Please, please keep your head up and keep moving forward. Your wife wouldn’t want this and your kids need you more than you will ever know. They need you. Don’t make them mourn for 2 parents or they might feel like suicide is their only option and I know that you wouldn’t want that.

This will be hard, but please remember that you aren’t only on this world for yourself, other people depend on you and need you more than you could ever know

Data, where are you located? If you need to talk or vent, I’ll drop everything and come pick you up or meet you somewhere. If you need a ride to go talk to a doctor or your kids, I’ll come get you

That's awful man. I've been in your shoes. You have to keep going for your children. Things will feel overwhelming for a long time, but take advantage of every offer of support that will come your way.

first off, terribly sorry for your loss. i won't even try to pretend to know what you're going through right now. in your plea for help you just wrote, your solution was written!
quote:

my kids

your kids need you now more than ever...they just lost their mother. as devastating as that is, taking their father also would be catastrophic! Live for the memories of your wife, make new memories with your kids. will it be difficult, yes....but will it be worth it, most definitely. Please lean on God and your family...talk to anyone that will listen...don't bottle up your feelings, let it out. Things will be different, things will be difficult but you're a father and your family needs you now more than ever. I will be praying for you...you are worth it!

Data posted this link to help in the funeral preparations for his wife. As a board let's do our best to help our brother in his time of need.

He also started a thread on the OT-Lounge and her death was extremely unexpected.

Link removed by admin. Goal was met
