I live here in Knoxville and the dentist I work with as well as just about every Vol fan I meet up here brings that game up when they find out I'm an LSU fan. To a man, they say that game sticks in their craw worse than any UT loss in the last 25 years. They were celebrating hard after the first half because they knew they were going to the Rose Bowl for the BCS game.

I must say I get guarded love from the Vol fans here in Nashville. The cool think is there are a lot of LSU fans here in Nashville, even LSU flags in my neighborhood. Just on my street there are 3 houses of LSU fans and one Green Wave. The funny thing about the Tulane guy is he always wears an LSU shirt. I asked his wife why and she said they were given to him and he's too cheap to buy anything new.

Yeah, my sister is a nurse up there and she and her family live a little closer to Pigeon Forge. I go up there 3-4 times a year and see LSU stuff everywhere. Lots of LSU stuff to buys as well, 2nd only to Tennessee stuff. Like I said, its cool because I get my LSU news in their paper, sometimes even more so than here in North LA. Nice area Big fan of Gatlinburg

Our 2001 SEC Championship win against UT is ranked as the Vols most heartbreaking loss in recent years.

Meh...I didn't really find this game heartbreaking. I'd say frustrating is more like it.

It was pure joy at the end of that game to turn around to that old man and say, " I guess he'll be an LSU fan a little longer huh? But I sure do hope you enjoy your trip to Los Angeles."

Classic...

Hiking the Smoky Mountains is great, love Eastern Tennessee and the Carolina's. As far as a game day experience UT on the river is great in the Fall.

I work in a sports store during the summer (I'm a student at LSU) and we actually sell more LSU stuff than Tennessee stuff.... I also have mey tons of fans that come through the store that are Tigah fans.

Nashville is pretty diverse fan base wise. I'd say its about 4-1 non UT fans to UT fans. Theres too many bammers up here though,....

Oh yeah, I'm sorta familiar with Brentwood. A girl I went to school with lives/lived there a few years ago. Any celeb neighbors? She said she ran into a couple of musicians while jogging at one of the parks there.

LeAnn Rimes, Carrie Underwood, Jeff Fisher, Alen Jackson, all live within 10-15 minutes of me. There's more, I'm sure.

I live in East Nashville LINK considered "The Hood" by many native Nashville residents. The tornado that heavily damaged East Nashville in '99 started a big redevelopment of the area. It's just across the river from downtown Nashville. I can get to just about anywhere in Nashville in 15 minutes or less. A great area to live and experience the revival of an old historic neighborhood. It's also right next to a nice hike and bike park called Shelby Bottoms that runs next to the Cumberland River.
My favorite place to hike is Radnor Lake just south of downtown Nashville LINK
I got to see my first Bald Eagle in the park this year. It's the best park for hiking in the city. It has a large amount of wildlife in the park with great ridge line hiking trails.

Dude...have you tried mountainbiking? There's some awesome trails in the greater Nashville area. Don't hike them tho, you'll get your a$$ run over.

I've never tried mountain biking. I've been wanting to bike over the new Cumberland River pedestrian bridge from Shelby Bottoms out to Percy Priest lake. LINK
Just haven't done it yet. Nashville has such a high quality of life if you enjoy outdoor activities. I hope the developers don't ruin it as it grows. It reminds me of Austin 30 years ago before Dell computer growth ruined it.

I've actually met several Vol fans in conventions/seminars here in Northern Cal and they all have a lot of respect for LSU. They know we were light weights in the 90s but admit we are a powerhouse now and very tough to beat even on the road.

Which is more than I can say for Florida and Bama fans I've met here.

Our 2001 SEC Championship win against UT

One of the best memories of that for me was that Robert Peace's grandmother, who lived in a town near where I lived and worked, had spent the entire week leading up to the game strutting around bragging about how she was going to Pasadena and what fun it was going to be, and literally scoffing at the possibility that LSU might win. She was pretty scarce around town the week after.

UT fans generally are more classy/cordial than the rest of the SEC fans I've met.

They can get loud for a game when the crowd is into it. Just about second to none when they make a stop to win the game. But, you can hear a pin drop if they're losing by more than 7.

My 2nd favorite SEC stadium is def. Neyland.

I've also noticed since moving up here to Knoxville in July that the fans I meet are generally pretty nice when it comes to LSU. Lot's of hate for Alabama though.
