What the DAWGS have to do to e victorious Saturday

We have to run the ball well, to get the pressure off Bennett, so he can pass. I think also, these shouldn't be long passes down the field. Bennett likes to try the impossible sometime. The banged up D needs to stifle the run game, which I think they can do, and take it out all together. If we can do this, I think we win 35 - 17. What's yaw's opinions?

Have more points than Florida at the end of the game

Shut down the Gators run game.
Keep them 1 dimensional.
Tackle after the catch. Pitts and toney will get their catches. Dont let them get YAC.
Get Trask down when we get the chance. Dont let him Bo Nix us. We dont need to give UF free chances.
Limit offensive turnovers.

Luckily Trask isn’t nearly as mobile or as slippery as Nix. Nix is like a wet bar of soap

To e victorious, we must prevent a water pipe from breaking somewhere near the stadium.
If that happens, it's an automatic 200,000 points for UF, and I don't think we can make up the difference after that

Agree. But one of the biggest differences in the Florida offense this season versus past is Trask's success on the ground.
He had 8 yards rushing on the season in 2019 (including sack yardage). Through 4 games, he has 75.
I mentioned Bo Nix because he was a Houdini. A better example might be the frustration that Dawg fans had with Gatewood and those drives that never seemed to get off the field.

You have to rattle trask.
You have to hit him hard af and make him start rethinking staying in there to throw that deep ball because I’m very afraid of our secondary coverage.

Yeah but he gets the ball out quick we have to get after his arse quick and at least pressure him

Anyone seen that it’s supposed to rain
Some Dawg fans probably won’t like it, but we probably rush 40+ times again if it’s successful. I think we’re a better run blocking team than we have been. Limit Trasks possessions and get off the field on 3rd down.
Kirby’s formula of 4 yards (or more, of course) and a cloud of dust is going to be the only way we win this game.

People like to compare one game to the next, truthfully each match up and game plan is different. Kirby wanted a shortened game and to work out the interior lines. In theory this should have reduced the likelihood for injuries, but the game was an outlier from that standpoint.
UF, division rival, east on the line. We will see a different level of motivation and preparation.
If we can establish a lead early and keep it, we will run the ball down their throats all day.
28-14 type game.

Don’t throw them the ball.
Avoid giving up the big pass.

I heard something interesting on the radio yesterday. If UGA can get to 50 run attempts and completed passes combined then they'll most likely win the game. You had to go back to the last time UGA lost the UF game for them to not cross that 50 threshold. It doesn't guarantee the game but it's a strong indicator that we're going to win.

it would be interesting to know the last time we lost any game with that number over 50

answer 2019 SC game, but that was a cluster all the way around

I agree with this but Bennett needs to be a significant aspect of our running game. Bennett is fast. We need to use his speed to get outside and force their outside linebackers and DBs to come up to stop our outside running game. And then when they do, we should have trailing receivers to throw to over their containment.
Also, someone posted a stat this week on the Rant about average yards per rush and Florida was #2 in the SEC. Trask and their passing game get most of the attention but Florida has a good running game and we need to shut them down and hope that our secondary can limit yards after the catch of the excellent Florida receivers.
Make no mistake: with our missing starters on defense and our minimal offense, we really should be underdawgs in this game.

Yeah, blame can go all around for that game

I would think that's a pretty good recipe for almost anyone to win.

We'll never hold Florida to 14...

Dominate rushing yards and win the turnover battle. We all want to see a high flying passing game but the team who runs for the most yards has won every game in this series since 2005.
Obviously being able to throw the ball helps with that.

UF hasn't played anyone other than Tamu.
