Watching a replay of the 03- LSU/OM game Brandon Jacobs was RB for the rebs on a couple of plays. Had no idea he played for the Rebs. What happen? Grades? Cutcliffe? What was it reb fans?

I was assuming he meant THE Brandon Jacobs - not some wanna-be.

there were 2 Brandon Jacobs that played SEC football...one at Auburn (then left)...then the one at Ole Miss
The one that was too stupid to play for LSU went to Auburn, then left.

actually he went to Coffeyville Community College....got his grades up and was the No.1 JUCO prospect in in 2003. ....and as I recall LSU was going after him as well...he just choose Auburn (which did not make much sense with Ronnie Brown and Carnell Williams at AU)

Yep. AU has a strong history of top JUCO guys. Last year Enrique Davis was the #1 rb (we lost him when we switched to the spread though). Jermain Johnson was the #1 Olineman (will be at AU next year), Raven Gray number one defensive player (will be on the field contributing a lot this year). Steven Davis went the JUCO route before coming to AU too I think.
And for next year we have possibly the best JUCO player in the country again in Freeman and maybe the best multi purpose JUCO player in Kennedy.

Wasn't he the one that said something along the lines of..
"If I was me, I'd play me"

Jacobs left AU then went to some other FCS school for a year or two then to the Giants. Frankly I'd have played him over Caddy too.

Didnt he wind up at Southern Illinois or something like that after he left Auburn?

That's actually a pretty stupid thing to say.

He was a Saluki. I watched him play a couple of times. My aunt lives in Carbondale.

I recall back in the day when Assumption and Jacobs met up with John Curtis in the 4A playoffs. Talk about some pads popping. I didn't see it, but you can imagine.

He didn't choose LSU, because LSU recruited him as a DE. Auburn told him he could try RB, but eventually moved him to DE. Now he's an NFL rb. Looks like he knew something Saban and Tubby didn't.

He's 6'4 260. He has a defensive end's body and would be making much more money as a defensive end. (927,000 base salary for his rookie contract)
VY might have made it to the league as a QB, but will be average at best.
