I don't expect our 1st time HC to battle the SEC less than 5 games into his head coaching career, but our AD could have said a lot more, and gained a lot of respect in the fan-base by doing so.

SEC Statement on Replay, Fine For Head Coach Comments
The video replays I've watched during and after the game don't appear to provide indisputable evidence that the player made contact with the ball. Without indisputable evidence the call stands.
Edit: I've watched an enlarged slow motion video and it's obvious the ball bent one of the player's pinky fingers.
Why didn't Kiffin challenge the on-field call to get it reviewed in slow motion? He could've gotten the ball and timeout back and avoided the bad look drama and $25k fine.
Seems about as crazy as calling that fake FG.

I’d be very concerned if I was an Ole Miss fan.
He is a shitty game day coach and he apparently hasn’t matured much.

Auburn lost to Arkansas. I haven't reviewed the Ole Miss video enough to make a definite conclusion. It appears the ball touched the player, but there's only one camera view. It seems that there's something going on with Auburn and referees.

Kiffin probably doesn't mine getting popped for 25 thousand to have his say. But regardless of the call, you have to have law and order. Otherwise, refs would be on Twitter battling it out after every controversial call with all these coaches and fans.

the SEC has determined the replay official should have stopped the game for further review of the play. In the football officiating replay process every play is reviewed but, when appropriate, the game is stopped for further review.
In fairness to the officials, in regular time I could not tell if the ball hit the return man. I could tell it was close, but I did not think he touched it either. Once I looked at the replay in slow motion, it was easy to see, hence they should have stopped play.
TLDR
I understand why the ruling was made but they should have stopped play.

Chances are the Athletic Department will pay it anyway. They do that some in baseball, I am guessing they do it in college football, too.

This!
Kiffin out-Gussed Gus. He made so many dumb decisions. That was ineptness at its finest.

The ball bent his finger back 45 degrees. How many cameras showed it is irrelevant. Also this was a change of possession. The clock was already stopped. There is no excuse for waiting an additional 30 seconds to start play again.

Agreed. I've never understood why refs are protected
Because if coaches start calling out these fools, die-hard idiot fans will snowball it into verbal attacks at games or maybe even worse.
Coaches should definitely be able to voice their opinion. But some fans out there don’t know how to restrain themselves.

His clock management was horrid. Wasn’t impressed with the fake punt either. He still has a lot to learn.

Good. He has been very disrespectful and a sore loser.
Not what I saw. I thought he was very respectful, especially in the post-game presser when he followed the rules, even though he couldn't believe what he was just told.
The real "loser" here is actually Auburn because this makes it much harder to get rid of the terrible head coach they have, besides the foolish contract they have him under.
You know, deep down, any Aubie with any real knowledge of football is not liking the situation and how the refs have helped facilitate it. Meanwhile, all the other fan bases don't like the refs bailing Auburn out, but know the reality of the situation when it comes to the head coach/staff.
Long story short, joke's on you.

The refs are the police and you can't say anything bad about law enforcement.
Unless you know someone elected. Clearly Lane doesn't know any higher ups. He needs to reach out to his old pal Saban to see how to get that connection

I can't believe this is still going on since we now have definitive proof he didn't touch it

All of the schools should chip in and divide the fine.

Kiffin could have had fun with this by thanking SEC profusely for their professionalism and having a sign language interpreter on screen calling the SEC every name in the book.

Amazing how these blown game changing calls always favor Auburn

Yep. Both missed calls were highly obvious and easily overturned.

I’ll never understand why criticizing officials is so taboo to fine coaches over it

The ref's gave Auburn the last 2 games!
