We better give him another $36 million to be sure he does not take the Arkansas job.

Hey, but he donates money to us and supports social justice issues. Actually winning is not important

Dude is not a good coach and we could definitely do better.

Record vs Bama is respectable

Beating bama isn’t and shouldn’t be the sum of AU’s goals...

Who cares. There’s like 11 other games on the schedule...

Yes.
It’s a huge mental block for some of our fanbase. So long as we beat Bammer life is good. No give a shits about UGA or the playoff.

Here's what I expect from Auburn football and maybe I'm naive:
-Beating UGA/LSU roughly 50% of the time.
-Beating Alabama maybe 30% of the time. It really depends on their situation too. When they are rolling like they have the last decade, that's a tall order. We should ride the train on them in the Mikes/Curry days
-Competing for the West every year
-Winning the West every few years
-Winning the SEC in half of those attempts.
Our record vs. UGA and on the road vs. LSU is unacceptable the last decade. And if that's not who we want to be, we sure as shite shouldn't be paying a head coach NC type money every year and just accept that.

He had some good gadget plays versus Sun Belt teams.
He ran many different plays versus LSU in 2018 in the third quarter.
He had a great play call on the wild cat, jet, toss back to Stidham versus Tennessee in 2018.
He developed an incredible formation and play versus Clemson in 2016 called the Notre Dame Box with Spinning Pirouettes.
His play call on fourth down versus Alabama when the CoxCat was fully loaded and a deep pass was thrown to a wide open WR.
He is the master of the orbit motion resulting in complete disarray in any defense.
He is in short an unstoppable offensive genius with at least 5 to 7 plays.

I'll add that while I hate losing, it is acceptable to me if I feel like we are competitive with who we lose to. We weren't competitive in the Georgia game. We were NEVER going to win that game.

Who cares about stats and percentages and all that garbage. Nothing at all is happening until the end of '21 at the earliest and depending on the athletic department budget for '21 will affect that.
So support the team, try to get some decent 'cruits, and maybe experience for some of the young guys.
Same as I came into the season felt like we were an 8-2/7-3 type team. Hopefully last weekend was an eye opener for the lineman on both sides. That you must use your technique especially against good talent.
I also thought with the schedule the unknowns that this was pretty much a throw away year. I even mentioned it in a post before the season. Asking with the inexperience we have on the line of scrimmage should we use this season as training quality depth for '21. Not that we are playing to lose but always understanding that we need experienced depth going forward. Seems the coaches understand that. Both lines have been putting different people in and not just using the same group every series. Coach G has always done that but is doing it more and more this year then normal.

It should be legal to kick Jay Jacobs in the nuts upon sight.

I am not convinced that CorchJay isn't a (more clever than most) Bama alter.

Lol. Trust me I'm not. However my brother played football there('78,79, and 80) so I have a true hatred of the Turds. I've never even mentioned anything pro bama except the truth.
Fact vs emotion you should try it sometimes. You think with the economy at this point surrounding college sports that we are going to fork out 25+ million to ditch the head coach plus whatever we owe the assistants?
I understand the it all falls on the head coach argument but I also see the bigger picture and landscape. Will a new coach regardless of who that person in change the overall landscape or our program? For me personally I don't think so. In our geographical region we have 3 monster programs right now we are recruiting against (Bama, UGA, Clemson) then we have the other big programs we are battling with for players (UF, FSU, UTk). Luckily under Gus we have out performed those last 3 teams. Recruiting is the life blood of the program and at this point UGA and Bama are recruiting like no one else.
Another thing I will say is Gus rarely on game day just flat out gets out coached. He's prepared for most anything thrown at him and the team is prepared. Do they always perform? Nope and that's my biggest issue with Gus. Does he make boneheaded play calls? Yep but so does every other offensive coach. If you know anything about football you would know 2013 offense was totally different then 2017. You would also know 2020 is much different then 2017. Muh, route tree. Completely different route tree from last year to this year? Thought the route tree was the issue? Jimmy's and Joe's are greater then X's and O's.
I used to post on the Fambly... got banned came here. Not sure why I get the heat here that I get but I will stick by my opinions so if that's an issue might want to ignore my posts if you disagree. I don't back down.
