Good. We need to stop giving other P5 teams free high profile games.
Bowl games will be more exciting that way too.

The teams I see being against it are Scar, UF, and UGA. They have OOC rivalries, so they’d get one cupcake game

Few will weep for them. They will either adapt or die. This is called capitalism. It's time these programs learned to survive on their own without living off of our money.

um, no. we need 4 OOC to go bowling sometimes. 10 game SEC schedule doesn't give us a chance.

Don't disagree, let's stop calling it amateurism and student athletes

I’m fine with non-P5 exhibition games with teams like Southern Miss because our schools have a history.
We should absolutely not be giving free regular season games to programs like Texas or Clemson though.
Our league is self-sufficient, and if other P5 programs need big games, they should pay for them.
We’ve built a football conference that can stand on its own by distributing wealth such that all programs can succeed. Letting conferences that failed to do that (Big12) schedule games with us leaches off of our conference.
No one is going to keep the SEC out of the playoff because they had a harder schedule. It would be viewership suicide.

I would feel for the "mid-majors". Some of those programs would cease to exist. They rely on the big payday from the P5 schools. Also, it would be hard for us to get two teams in if we did that.

Why not have exhibition games with the non power 5 teams in the spring? Can charge like they normally do for those teams. Win win.

I disagree. We’ve already gotten two teams in. Going to ten games doesn’t change that

It's a terrible idea that will only make the conference weaker.
All conference games end in a .500 record for the entire conference. You need out of conference games to get those win%'s up, and to show strength against other conferences.
Yesterday was no different than any other SEC game weekend.

Each SEC school should schedule 1 G5 a season.
Keeps our conference honest and helps those schools build a case for post season bowls.
My issue is us giving away big games to other conference when they could he going to SEC schools.
Look at Vanderbilt and Arkansas last night, for example.
Those games would have normally gone to another P5 conference

Just give them the money and schedule 12 REAL football games each season. 9 conference games and 3 non-conference games chosen by the NCAA (and maybe the TV networks), not the universities.

then changing the recruiting rules, so we can.
