Maybe one win but we wouldn't beat anyone today.

Mizzou, A&M and OM all look like they could be winnable games after week 1.

State is off the table which is unfortunate.

I still think Tennessee may be one we could get as well since it’s at home.

All this is dependent upon the OL improving week to week. I know we played arguably the best front 7 in CFB tonight but it’s not a huge drop off to most of these other teams in the SEC so they have to get better.

Our defense was salty until they got gassed. Young DBs looked really good. UGA has one of the best fronts we'll see all year so the run game should get going and open things up against most other teams. I'm pretty confident we win at least 3 games if we don't get eviscerated by injuries or covid

The offense and the playcalling was garbage. No one can make any excuses against Miss St. if they can't move the chains.

briles tried like 7 different run schemes. none of them worked. you look stupid if you can't run the ball, and don't put all of your focus on a pass game like leach

You can't waste plays against a defense that good. They have too much speed. Sweeps, screens didn't work because Georgia set the edges. As bad as it sounds, the passing game was the only chance of scoring. Then we did trick plays and that brought flashbacks of the Chad. Anytime you do trick plays, you are telling everyone you gave up.

I know it was a very stout defense but the offense didn't challenge them at all and bad play calls that put the offense in third and long situations made them predictable.

It might not have mattered but it would make the game a little more respectable.

All of this.

The screens, runs, and east-west game plan should have been thrown out at half time.

Sam said after the game that he didn't have a problem with how Briles called the game nor his trick plays. This scared me.

Most great coaches would get on the horn and yell at the OC to stop with the shenanigans or do like Saban used to with Kiffin when he got too cute.

Guess that comes with experience. I don't know.

Sam isn't the coach to throw anyone under the bus man. I just don't see him doing that. But I bet you see a bit of difference next week.

I still believe there will be some trick plays however.
He enjoy that part of the chess match.

And a trick play is genius, when it works...

We need to come out of the next 5 game stretch with 2 wins. I see A&M and Ole Miss as the best shot at that. Tenner and Miss St. are long shots but still possible.

I'm not as down on our chances vs Miss St as most are. Everyone is kissing Leach's arse right now but LSU lost every key piece of last years team and the best CB in the nation was out for them. They are green as hell. If we can sustain some drives we have a shot.

A&M and Tenner are both games where it depends on which team they come out as. If we get bad tenner and A&M we have a shot. Hell if we get bad A&M I think we can win comfortably.

We will need to win a shootout against ole miss.

Auburn I don't see us having a chance against. They will come with their A game against us as long as Gus is there.

As I have said before my concern going forward is depth, or, rather, our lack of it.

We may need to adjust the tempo of our offense. By all means, go ultra fast when the situation calls for it. But maybe run some clock on offense just to keep our defense on the sideline for a bit longer to get their wind back.

We played very well for a half (and Georgia self destructed a lot) and that is a good sign going forward.

I think Sam was defending Briles which is understandable. He is still a young OC and hopefully he won't be as stubborn as Joe Craddock was.

Auburn has a good defense and so we have no chance against them.

I think auburn will be a low scoring game but we have time to fix issues on offense before then and there front is not the same as Georgia’s and it’s not nearly as good as it was last year. Their offense isn’t that great and our defense looked pretty damn good. I think we will hang in their with auburn

If you can't run (and we couldn't due to talent gap), it takes away all of the play action passing game.

If GA knows all you can do is try to pass, they are going to crowd WRs on the line and make you thrown downfield...which you'll seldom be able to do given their DL will all be in the NFL whenever they chose to leave school.

That leaves trying a couple of trick plays...and everyone including Briles knew they might not work...but you hafta try SOMETHING. I have no problem with the calls. Obviously the execution was poor. If 41 doesn't backtrack and fumble we just lose 3-5 yards on the reverse and if 16 just tucks it and runs we gain 4-5 vs. throwing an INT.

I saw improvement in the fight and it was clear that the defense has been well coached. EVERYONE's offense is going to be error prone due to reduced practice reps. If you're sane you do realize that GA's offense looked horrible the entire first half...then they wore our D down totally and looked much better.

Bit OT but Jarques McClellion is opting out for this year.

Going to need one of Devin Bush, Malik Chavis, LaDarrius Bishop or Khari Johnson to step up. Didn’t think McClellion was all that good but he was experienced.

Bush, Chavis and Bishop need to give us some minutes this year to rest the starters some.
Don't be surprised if Johnson is starting when we get a couple more games under our belt.

When we went 3-2-6 against Georgia we had Brown, Jacobs, Brooks, Catalon, Slusher and Foucha or Blair in.

I would guess the second unit will look something like Chavis, Johnson, Bishop, Mason, Smith and Foucha or Blair.

I can’t imagine a scenario where all of those folks don’t play this week. We look real good on the first unit, in my opinion but that’s a pretty nerve wracking drop off to the second group. We obviously wouldn’t go to a full second unit being in at one singular time but I still see where holes can pop up real fast.

I’d hope Devin Bush can factor in somewhere but I haven’t heard him mentioned at all this offseason so who knows how he’ll contribute this year.
