But then I saw Auburn at 10 and Alabama at 6 and didn't realize how stupid this list is.
The list is stupid because A&M isn’t last.

With no insult intended to the Vols, who look to have a good team this year, they've never been past the Sweet 16 have they? LSU has 4 Final Fours to their credit. Arkansas has 6, which includes a 2nd place finish and a national championship.
I don't see how you can put the Vols over them.

The comment about the talent in state at arkansas is way off too, id put our in state talent against most of the SEC states, and up u til recently, they havent been too loyal like the article claims

Yeah, we've had a problem with a lot of top talent leaving the state for both men's and women's basketball in the last two decades or so. It just seems like a poorly researched article.

Alabama on the bubble...list checks out.

Yes. Elite 8 in 2009-2010. Lost to Michigan State by 1.

If every job in the conference were to open up today, how would he rank them in order of the most attractive to the top candidates?
They are ranking this on what they perceive to be the most attractive jobs for coaches in 2020. The title of their article is a bit misleading. I just updated

Ah that makes more sense.

Simmer down Hogs. Yall are #2 if we are doing overall everything.
Though its time to start actually doing something on the court of a more recent vintage to keep it.

Vandy absolutely too low. Their fans love basketball. Used to be a consistent team in making the NCAA field.

Vols top tier per the usual

That quote is why Auburn is too low in this ranking. Historically they haven't been great, but have had good runs. The new Arena vs the old dump has changed a lot for the good for Auburn. A Sonny Smith said when he saw it, I could have recruited a lot better with this place.
PS: I don't remember TN packing out Thompson Boling in the past when they were not good. Not arguing their ranking, I just don't remember them being that passionate about BB.

The cool thing about basketball is every school in the sec is one coach or one recruiting class away from being in the dance. With the money in the SEC and strength of schedule any team can get it done. Ole miss being 12th on this list is probably right based on our history, but I wouldn’t trade our trajectory/coaching staff with anyone else in the SEC. kermit is the man

Tennessee fluctuates between Top 5-10 in attendance nationally almost every year. They were #4 in the country in attendance last year and the only other SEC team besides Kentucky to crack the Top 5. They have a very passionate basketball fanbase.
Arkansas was #11 and the next closest was South Carolina @ #28.

quote:No one besides us packs it out in this conference unless they are good. Arkansas is the closest exception but even then they had a drop off. But the Vols go buck wild when they have reason to, more so than other programs in the conference who have had plenty of reasons to and didn't.

If everyone in the conference had the success that UK has, Arkansas and Tennessee are the two fan bases I've seen that come remotely close to being able to be in that ballpark.
As far as just consistent support regardless of the ups and downs of a team each year, LSU....State....Carolina.
