Maybe the SEC didn’t point at the doorknob and say don’t let it hit you the backside on the way out, but forcing the worst football team in the conference to play two of the best was more than a slap in the face. It was a kick in the teeth. It seems so obvious what the league was doing, and always has been accused of doing. It was taking care of the cream of the crop, even if it cost several programs dearly.

Admittedly, the Razorbacks’ fall has had nothing to do with the SEC.

If I'm UGA or FL and one of my "new" opponents isn't Arkansas then that's worse than anything Wally is complaining about. You don't get rewarded for playing like trash three seasons straight.

First Georgia afraid, now the Gumps.

Wally, when you’ve lost 19 consecutive SEC games, the addition of any conference foes is a big step up. You already had Missouri and Tennessee. Four of the other five SEC East programs were going to kick your arse too. And I’m not sure Vanderbilt is a gimme.

I've never understood Arkansas bitching about the tough schedule.
If the thought process is "we are a fricking dumpster fire that recently lost to San Jose State, Western Kentucky, and North Texas; we also should have lost to Portland State" so "we shouldn't have to play good teams" then they need to go join the Sun Belt.

He’s right. SEC always protects the front runners. I get it. More money for the conference if 2 teams make the playoffs.
But Alabama privilege in football and Kentucky privilege in basketball is real.

Arkansas is where we were in the early 2000s. Totally did get the third world treatment from the SEC as well. But when you are to the point where you struggle with Tulane and lose to Maine, you have no room to talk.
As someone who lived in Arkansas in the late 2000's however, Arkansas lived in quite a bubble thats hard to explain unless you were on the inside. Little Rock was more Arkansas than Fayetteville was ironically. NWA has the most diverse SEC fans rn cause of all the jobs there. Living in SE Arkansas, I was way closer to MSU than I was to UARK, yet most people still liked Arkansas and some even went 5-6 hours to games to Fayetteville. Hard pass
