Gus' presser today -

Shivers running number 1

5 Starters out for covid. Now by SEC rule 3 times tested per week

60 play scrimmage for the 1s and 2s
Did situational stuff prior and Kick/kick return, Punt/punt return

Behind the top 3 WRs. Shed Jackson has shined.

LT - Trox and Alec Jackson battling... Trox is probably ahead the way it sounds

kick returners - Shivers, Stove, MAR

Gus was very open today. Good interview and gave as much information that he knew at this time. Some positions still up for grabs.

Just got off the phone with a friend of the program. This is his thoughts from the things he's heard...

A. Jackson Council Brahms Manning Hamm
Trox Stutts Irvin K. Jones Coffey

Bo Loy

Seth
Shed
capers

Swartz
hudson
newton

Stove
Capers

Skenker
Deal
?

Running backs all will play. Shivers will be named starter think 12 "touches" a game. Tank is so good MAR has been impressive.

He says Alec Jackson and Troxell isn't settled yet but just his opinion whoever has the better week this coming week will be the starter but his bet is Jackson.

Defensive front is loaded with talent. There will be some growing pains for some but DL will be a team strength. Wooden biggest surprise and Burks is an absolute monster has just got to learn to hold double teams. Z. Walker playing more inside then out.

Riley Steiner and Tisdol all playing well. Tossup

Puckett and Tennison are standing out as young guys.

Said kind of like a rabbits package on defense that the offense has an all bigs package.

Seth Capers Shed TE Joiner/MAR. TE flexes out. Joiner motions out of the backfield. Empty set backfield. Goal is delay Joiner/Mar off the line. Flood one side wheel/post corner on the opposite with an inside backer on the running back. Bo can run if lane opens with good blockers at WR

If ya'll don't like i'll give him a big Rant F/U for you guys

I had to google a few of these players. Never heard of several of them. Gonna be a lot of new faces this year.

CorchJay,

What about Dre how is he doing?

Wooden, is he playing SSDE now, he was listed as buck but seems he has grown out of that.

How is the buck looking.

I take it Zierer is still behind due to the knee?

10 out with covid, I wish we would just have a chicken pox party and get this over with before the season starts.

Butler has missed time "sick". So trying to catch up. He will be a player for sure.

Wooden is playing both sides. I'd say he's 3rd at buck and 3rd at SDE.

Zierer is still recovering but in a good spot but Trox and Jackson are a lot further ahead on the power end. The 2 juco's will still have 2 years to play after this year so they are in great spots. I wish we would have taken more this past off season if we'd have known.

Not saying there shouldn't be an infection party but the liability if something were to go the wrong way well we'd have to fold the team in completely forever. Would be worse then the SMU death penalty.

I posted this early yesterday when I heard from a friend. Wasnt a source from another board either.

As far as everyone just getting it and getting it over with. That is not how Covid 19 is working. It is not a one and done thing.

Same Lanier. I'm banned from the other boards lol and I will never join a pay site. Not worth it to me. Wait 30 minutes anything on a pay site will get out almost immediately. Now if you are an absolute recruiting junkie there might be value for that person but I don't have to know every kid that gets an offer to AU unless we are really going after them.

Another example of Gus playing favorites instead of actual holding competition in camp. This is what the 3rd time now? Roc Thomas, Kam Martin and now Shivers.

If Shivers is the best back we have on the roster, we are fricked. I like him but he is not and should not be our #1 guy

But you cant possible ever thought Roc Thomas was ever going to be the guy for us. I guess you also think Asa Martin was being done wrong too.

Unless I misunderstood your dig.

I didn't, but Gus did. Which is why he named him a starter then he was replaced by someone who actually preformed on the field. Gus wasting preseason camp then changing the starting lineup after game 1 is the most consistent thing about about his tenure at Auburn.

So, as usual, you’re just spewing baseless knowledge again. Par for the course.
