Troubling Word from UT Austin, Texas that may signal short season

One of my children decided to go to Hippe U of the South. (I was so looking forward to the beatdown in Tiger Stadium. She wouldn’t give LSU, Bama, Auburn or Ole Miss the time of day, despite them all offering free ride. The more I pushed worst it got)
Anyway, they are opening school, etc, even though apparently worst college for Covid-19 infection rate in America. However, my sources have admitted it’s just “all go” until they get those tuition checks. Students aren’t allowed to go to parties, do anything, etc Semester ends before Thanksgiving, etc
But here is the tell, those are plans until first fatality, or outbreak then it’s over, That’s student, teacher, employee.
I thought that’s a little extreme then I was told what do you think they are doing in the SEC? It’s that the situation here too? If so does that cancel football?
What about if an SEC football Player dies of Covid-19 during the season, is that it for the season? I am guessing it probably is, but what if a player dies and the ACC cancels the remaining season, does it snowball? It just seems unlikely that not one player gets sick and possibly dies among all those in the country. What about a coach, does that count?
What are the rules here?

I seriously doubt there is a death anywhere. What athlete anywhere in the world has died from this?

In August, 1983, Gregg Pratt, Auburn's starting FB, tragically died of a heat stroke during practice. As awful as it was, there was never any consideration of canceling the season.

The chances that a player dies during the season is probably fairly low though staff and coaches are a different story.
However, it does seem likely that there will be some high profile players who catch it and do get the "worst flu symptoms I've ever had for 20+ days and still short on breath after 6 weeks" variety.
Seems a decent percentage of healthy young people have had the same battle with it Braves Freddy Freeman did.
Braves' Freddie Freeman had 104.5-degree fever, prayed for his life while sick with COVID-19 / ESPN
I think you'll begin to get a lot of administrations second guessing playing if there's enough of those.
There also may be more players that "opt out" when they see it happen to their team mates. Especially ones worried about any long-term lung damage etc. with the goal of pro career.

One of my clients is on the board of regents in the UT system, and I can say with a pretty high degree of confidence this is bullshite.

Uh I go to UT Austin and there are in person classes being offered. I’m literally taking one this fall.

It didn’t see it in July 29, email but I know it was in one of them as my wife pointed it out to me etc. But here it is in a media report that took 5 seconds to find.
