Jardin Gilbert Appreciation Thread

Posted by Copernicus on 9/1/25 at 4:56 pm
Played his best game on Saturday night. I’ve been very critical of him. I’m glad he keeps working hard :geauxtigers:
Justified from the Clemson fan. Anybody in an OBJ jersey deserves to be strangled
We’re fine with Spears and Toviano. Gilbert shouldn’t have to play.
Over the course of the year, yeah you’ll be better on defense. Saturday? Ehhhh.

I see this game as an expected QB showcase, so naturally both defenses will do everything they can to disrupt the QB. The team that’s able to run the ball most consistently wins (random turnovers aside). We have a RB. You have a WR at RB.

Close game. Probably down to the last possession as you said. May the best team win.
Excited to see our defense play at all 3 levels. It’s hard to argue we didn’t drastically improve there, and a significant part of that is addition by subtraction - mainly at S

LG seems to be the most questionable spot, followed by the OL in general learning to play together. I wouldn’t call it an inexperienced OL, we just don’t know how they play together.

Why do you feel so confident in Clemson’s DL? Individual talent, sure. Ranked 83rd in rushing allowed last year. Not exactly a murderer’s row of a schedule either.

Tom Allen just fixes it with the snap of a finger?

Clemson OL was 58th in sacks allowed and 56th in rushing yards. Again, not a great schedule. Another year of Matt Luke probably improves that though.

CFP here - not for Morgan Stanley.

What value are you receiving from the relationship?

Is the advisor assisting in retirement planning, asset location, insurance planning, tax efficiency? Are they providing suggestions with regards to your estate planning (trust/estate planner ultimately needs to do the work, but it’s important the advisor understands how to integrate the strategy into the portfolio/account titling)?

A lot of times clients just see fees and say “What’s the performance?”. Performance matters, but over time most advisors’ performance is going to be roughly in line with the benchmark.

The value we add is in the tens of thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) we save clients over time with having an optimized strategy. It’s also being the voice of reason in times like April when clients get emotional about their money and panic. Without that voice in their ear, they sell and miss a 30% swing back to the positive.

A lot of this board feels they can do all the things I listed and keep their emotions in check. That’s fine, and a lot of people can. There are also a lot of people that need the hand holding. That’s what the fee is for.
The lights got bright and they handled in very immaturely. Thought their shite didn’t stink.
5 month wait until basketball season for those losers
Why anybody listens to anything Finebaum has to say is one of life’s biggest mysteries to me.
The rest of the conference can F off. Geaux Tigers or geaux home

Imagine being that annoyingly strange and passionate about sports and you haven’t won anything in 85 years

The strike 3 call on Brown was way outside. Anderson has put a couple through a mailbox called balls. Awful
Aggie commentators talking about all the other goals in a season besides a natty. How fitting
