Mustard base sauces have their place. And that place is deliciousness.

The mayo based stuff is where I’ll end friendships

I don’t remember man, that was probably 7 years ago. They were all forgettable.

I remember one was this big place with all these business men. Company I was interviewing with was trying to impress me, and it didn’t work. Maybe a steak house or something?

Any state that cooks fresh gulf seafood is going to be a safe bet, tbh.

Louisiana. Just because the cajun way of spicing seafood is easily my favorite. Just fantastic. We have Harry's here and I could go every day honestly. I know its probably not close to real food in LA, but its damn well better than basic arse fish and bland rice

I travel between Mobile and New Orleans at least once a week and am amazed at the number of Bayou La Batre seafood trucks heading west to deliver shrimp, oysters, fish, to the restaurants in Louisiana. Does Louisiana produce any seafood other than crawfish?

Bayou La Batre, Al best Shrimp and Snapper in the world! Featured in the Forrest Gump movie because of it's quality and quantity of shrimp! Home of "BUBBA GUMP SHRIMP!" ?? wink!

P.S. Gulf Shores and Dauphin Island offer up daily caught fish and fresh shrimp when in season. Tons of redfish and steelheads.

The two SC is known for are Lowcountry Boil and Shrimp and Grits.

The fried flounder and shrimp in the low country are really good too.

That's the Midlands. The Northeastern part of SC is strictly pepper vinegar.

Lol gtfo.
Went to Houston once and every restaurant I tried was mediocre. If it weren’t for smoked brisket,Texas would have one of the worst food scenes in the country. All of your beer sucks arse too.

Been to well over half the states in the US and my trips to Texas have by far been the most disappointing food-wise with the exception of brisket.

In the SEC, it’s easily the weakest culinary-wise.

You sound poor

I am not a fan of Texas and this post was still so wildly wrong I had a good laugh.

Well done

It’s Texas. Houston is the food capital. Sorry. We do it better.

Pretty much anything really good in terms of seafood in Houston is a direct result of Louisiana natives who live in Houston.
And while Florida has lots of fresh seafood readily available, the key is knowing what to do with it. That is where Louisiana excels above every where else. Many years ago my first trip to the Florida Panhandle was a little disappointing because the seafood was bland, and mullet seemed to be regarded as more than a bait fish. Overtime, however, there has been a marked improvement, some of which is, again, due to New Orleans and other Louisiana chefs locating to Florida.

In defense of Houston, there are some really outstanding restaurants there, as there should be in a city of its size and diversity. But when it comes to seafood, Louisiana is tops.
