The thing is, y'all didn't even get any BCS at large bids during that stretch. Just brutal

Right. Wasn't that limited to 2 per conference at the time?
We were playing in Outback/Capital One Bowls meanwhile teams like Northern Illinois, random Big East teams, and an unranked Wisconsin team played in BCS bowls. Not to mention while we were beating Clemson plenty during that stretch, they got to play in BCS bowls.

In 2011, you had Bama and LSU. In 2012, you had Bama and UF. In 2013, you had Auburn and Alabama. We beat Nebraska, Michigan and Wisconsin those 3 years in bowl games though.

Their turnoverpalooza against Florida in 2012 was just bizarre.
Yeah, between the turnovers deep in our own territory immediately followed by fumbling a kickoff I very vividly remember the scoreboard showing UF with 21 points and only like 22-24 yards of offense - all before the game had hardly even started.

Yeah, as mentioned it was due to the conference limit. We beat Clemson and won @UCF that year. That was their only loss of the season on their way to winning the Fiesta Bowl.
Clemson went to a BCS game that year two.
I can’t remember if this was or stayed accurate but at the time Spurrier said something about being the only team to have beaten 2 BCS bound teams in one year.

They had some very good teams from 2010-2013. Their Dline was physical and they always whipped us on the LOS. Our 5 game skid to them was a big motivator in changing the outlook of the program, and becoming what we are now.

What a great game that was!

Actually the East was pretty fricking solid those years with South Carolina and Mizzou adding to the traditional strength of UF and UGA.
2011 AP Final Top 10
West: 3 (#1 Bama, #2 LSU, #5 Arkansas)
East: 1 (#9 South Carolina)
2012: AP Final Top 10
West: 2 (#1 Bama, #5 Texas A&M)
East: 3 (#4 UGA, #8 South Carolina, #9 UF)
2013: AP Final Top 10
West: 2 (#2 AU, #7 Bama)
East: 2 (#4 South Carolina, #5 Mizzou)
ETA: And again, it's not like we just beat up on a couple of weak East teams and floundered everywhere else. We beat the shite of highly ranked Clemson teams that year, won all of our bowl games against several top 15-20 teams, and was UCF's only loss in 2013 on their way to their Fiesta Bowl win.

A genuine testament to how good the ole ball coach was. USC was really tough the vast majority of his tenure. It always surprised me that they hired a lame Muschamp as his replacement instead of a progressive offensive coach like Spurrier.

He wasn't our first choice. By all accounts we were gunning for Kirby but UGA swooped in and nabbed him.

1/2 the team had the flu vs LSU and the other 1/2 had it vs UF. Two beat downs.
