Ours aren't great currently, but we're switching to our throwback look for all unis next year, not just the black ones like we had this past year:

Here's a couple of concepts that I have put together. I love the way LSU's helmet is designed. The pelican idea I had came from the state flag thread on the OT. Think it would be cool for a commemorative game or something of that nature.

So the top 7 uniforms belong to Big 6 schools and Ole Miss? I wonder where the author went to school?

I didn’t think the rankings were bad. Mizzou is a little high, and the guy who wrote the article is wearing Mizzou stuff all over his Instagram. He also live in KCMO, so he probably went to Mizzou to answer your question.

Orange is a shitty color, so that invalidates the entire ranking system.

LSU used a similar concept in their Katrina benefit game with Tulane in 2007. The helmet wasn't changed but the pelican merged with a phoenix (sans the LSU above) was on the top of the shoulders on the jersey

That list is solid. Top three could be in any order. Mizzouri should be a bit lower and Kentucky and Vandy should be a bit higher. Sometimes I think SCs should be higher.

Is yellow supposed to be an unusual color or something? "zomg, they used a primary color, what are they thinking"

Big 6 plus Ole Miss win based on pure consistency and tradition. Arkansas would be up there if they hadn’t changed 20 times over the last decade only to settle on what they were in the McFadden days. Everyone else simply has too much going on or has changed too many times over the years. Looking at you Adidas schools.

ETA: I agree with the author about A&M white helmets, they look great. Gotta dock points for the bevel though.

In a graphic design class I had at LSU we studied Complementary colors on the Artist's Color Wheel (i.e. colors that are visually appealing when combined). They are usually opposite each other on the color wheel.
It is used a lot in Advertising, product packaging, web site design, art, logos, etc.

Some of them are:

- Blue and Orange
- Red and Green
- Purple and Yellow

Whenever I see ANY school in ANY league trot out all-black unis for a game, I have to shake my head. That does not make a team tougher or play better. It just makes them look ugly x 1,000 while they are playing.

These were the best until we decided to screw them up. Big and bold Power T with big, oversized numbers.

Ranking is trash and it's another way for the media to trash us.

I like maroon (I'm biased) but I also realize there is only so much you can do with maroon and white as your primary colors.

State kind of screwed itself decades ago by 1. being really bad at a time when the traditional powers were establishing themselves (Ole Miss included at one point) and then 2. never sticking with a consistent uniform design. What most people consider to be the "classic" look was worn as recently as 2003. So you're talking about a program with basically zero uniform tradition.

What they wear now is a more modern take on the design from the late 90's. It's not perfect but it's better than a lot of the garbage they've worn in previous years. The Croom era jerseys looked like they came straight from the sporting goods section of Wal-Mart, and ribbon themed jerseys Adidas gave them a few years ago were horrible.

Really? Vanderbilt's uniforms are atrocious except when they go solid white or all black. Even Vanderbilt fans complain about them. You're welcome to your opinion, though.

Ole Miss: overrated as hell

I'll agree to disagree with you. Ole Miss, Auburn, and LSU are my favorites.

Agreed, but there's also only so much you can do with crimson and white and red and white as well.
