Gene Chizik and Ed Orgeron Comparisons

This is not a trolling thing. Both Coaches had the very good fortune of landing incredibly good QB's in their lap that took them to the top of the mountain.
Auburn couldn't recapture the magic on their fans time-table and in just 2 seasons after winning it all he's run out of town.
LSU could have a fall back. They lost so much in key places that I could see them in the 8-9 games this season (of course they could be back on top)...My questions to the LSU fans is will you be more forgiving of the need to rebuild at LSU than Auburn was with Chizik?

Auburn ran a gimmick offense that required a special skill set.
LSU does not run a gimmick offense.
Eta I searched for Gus gifs and ran across this. It’s off topic but I had to share.

Ok, but that doesn't answer the question. Will LSU be more tolerant to Coach O if LSU has a slide? Regardless of the offense it could happen.

A slide will most likely represent a 10 win season and second in the West. I can tolerate that.

Orgeron recruited Burrow.

With Aggies expected to win West, you’re saying Saban’s slipping to 3rd?

Chizik
8-5
14-0
8-5
3-9
Orgeron
9-4
10-3
15-0
Chizik's recruiting wasn't anywhere near the level of O's and he truly caught lightning in a bottle in his second season.
O, on other hand, built this team.
Any comparisons of O and Chizik are foolish.

1/13 shattered Clemson huh? That’s a program that is likely down for the count after LSU delivered a fatal blow

Dabs has had like 3 QBs fall in his lap. That guy has been incredibly lucky.

Ok, so if Orgeron had an “incredibly good quarterback fall into his lap”, why was Burrow so mediocre when he arrived at LSU? Everyone on this board was calling him Average Joe before this season. Orgeron’s hiring ability and commitment to having a top notch offense led to Joe being developed, Chizik inherited a guy who came in and single handedly won the natty immediately. You’re fricking stupid pal

I think Orgeron is a better recruiter than Chiz, so he will probably keep LSU at a higher level, but there could be some fall off this season for sure.

I see 5 games here that could be pretty tough, but I can see them most likely going 3-2 or 2-3 in these games.

Buddy...two years after our NC we experienced the worst season in Auburn’s history. It wasn’t just that we lost, it was the way we lost. Horrible player conduct issues including frightening crimes. Being down 49-0 to multiple opponents before the fourth quarter. Players goofing off and dancing on the sidelines when down by 3-4 touchdowns in the first half. Little to no positivity for the future of the program.
The idea that we just didn’t like that we weren’t winning NCs by 2012 is a terrible and baseless implication.
