don't think that's the case anymore, it might even be closer to 20% now
What? It's certainly the case and those revenues you showed are for the entire athletic depts.
And the only schools that come close to the 20% figure would be smaller FBS schools like Wake,BC or Vandy

It’s a donation to the athletic dept. The privilege of buying tickets comes with it, but they are separate things
But they aren't.
You think you keep your seats if you don't
make the donation? Its a PSL but it's called a donation for tax purposes. Damon Evans started it and you could deduct the payment back then.
Geez and stop with the "privilege" bullshite.CFB and UGA FB did just fine for years without the "donations"

Of course not. You don’t get seats with a donation unless you buy the face value tickets in addition to the donation.

For frick's Sake. Can we abolish this thread to the hell that is the PoliBoard?

You may not care about politics, but politics care about you.
Like it or not, this is about football too.

It's not just a political thread. It says in the title " seasons may need to be scrapped due to corona virus." The article is talking about pro sports, but if no pro sports are going to be played you think college sports will be? So it's both a political and SEC related thread. Wouldn't have posted it here if it was just political/health related.
Like him or not if Dr. Fauci says that pro or any sports can't or shouldn't be played then I'm willing to bet that the pro organizations will listen, and like I said if pro sports don't play neither will college or anyone else.

And yet it has devolved into my politics are better than yours. We will have a Trump/Biden political parade in here any moment. Wait... we already have that.
Flush this turd to the Poliboard. If I wanted the full experience of talking about politics on the SEC Rant I'd just punch myself in the balls until I lost consciousness. It would take less time and be less painful in the long run. I will go read the Wall Street Journal or check the BBC if I want to read about politics.
And I read about politics pretty much every day from them.

Hell no and it’s time Fauci takes a break with this fear mongering shite he’s pushing.
IF people want to stay home fine, that’s THEIR choice. But this bullshite of forcing everyone to do the same is ridiculous. I’m not afraid to go out, shop or even sit at a damn bar and have a drink. I’m not wearing a fricking mask or gloves - that’s MY choice.

So apparently people are dying anyways even with these world saving guidelines by the experts. So people are dying anyways and we are compounding it by ruining everyone else’s lives who aren’t dying Sounds like a fricking brilliant plan
Posted on 5/1/20 at 6:19 pm to MeatPants
Less people are dying that would have. That’s kind of the point to trying to save lives.
Posted on 5/1/20 at 6:29 pm to djsdawg
You don’t know that. Plus no one is taking into account what’s happening to other “lives”
It will be interesting to see if this “cure” actually was worse than a different tactic
Who knows

The same amount of people are going To die dude. You are acting like we are going to be able to quarantine people for long enough to stop this shite. That’s completely unrealistic. They are going to get it now or get it a year from now. We didn’t shut the country down to prevent more people from dying and I have no idea why that narrative keeps getting pushed. It’s not true. We shut the country down to prepare for the influx of patients in hospitals. We are going to open the country back up and a lot of people are going to get the virus. Over 99% will be fine. The remaining will die. That’s the reality.

Impossible to know but “Less disease = less death” is a reasonable prediction.
Posted on 5/1/20 at 6:51 pm to djsdawg
You’re advocating for a slow painful death that turns our country into a 3rd world wasteland and ends up with more deaths due to the same amount of people eventually getting Covid and suicide and malnutrition Great Depression style deaths skyrocketing instead of a quick herd immunity that kills the same amount of covid people and eliminates the country going into a depression that will change the lives of your grandkids.
