Can someone explain Florida fans to me?

The behavior of florida fans seems very strange to me. Looking at this webpage, they seem to be obsessed with georgia and georgia fans. It seems like they are jealous and insecure about georgia's recent regular trips to the big game in atlanta.
This is all fine and to be expected, but the weird thing is that not too long ago when shark boy had florida going to atlanta, none of the florida fans seemed to care and they didn't even show up to the game. Why do they care so much about the SEC championship game now?
It's all a little strange to me.
