We are still looking at listings but honestly, we are kind of on hold right now. Waiting for things to settle down and waiting to see whats going to happen with the tackle business. We have found a few that we like but we are thinking about a town home. The ones we are looking at do not allow rentals so there would be no reason to buy early. Our original plan was to buy a home, rent it for 3 years or so then gut it and set it up when we move down.

It is hard to tell what this years events will do to our plan. Like everyone else, our investments have taken a hit but my tackle business is better than ever our of no where. Cant even keep up right now. Kinda silly actually.

Haven't fished in years. I went to Mike's the other day. Completely out of my element. Ended up getting a combo spinning reel.

Jesus Christ all the options. Had to get a worker to help me

Give me a river bass any day. We have spots and shoal bass on the Ocmulgee. A 3 lbs shoal bass will pull harder than a 5lb lake bass everyday of the week. The record shoal is a little over 8lbs.

True for Spots and Smallmouth. Ive caught both and big ones in both. Nothing like a river fish. Mean as hell

It's a sliding scale. Big River bass (Alabama, Mississippi, etc) pull harder than lake bass, but a small river/creek bass will drown both.

And then there's redfish, Jack crevalle, tarpon, snapper... You know, things worth fishing for

Have you thought about buying and building? I have seen a couple of empty lots open up in rentable areas (across the street from the beach) down towards the Gulf Drive Cafe on Gulf Drive. You could build to suit your needs and then rent it out. The prices should go down as this was a bad season and some may be hurting when we open back up. Keep an eye out.

That is what we are thinking. Just waiting around to see what happens. Honestly, I’d be fine buying in Harbor Isle across the bay.

Things are starting to slowly open up here. Some restaurants are starting to open dinning again and others have elected to wait another week or two. People should do what they feel comfortable with as things start to reopen. Personally, I am going to wait another couple of weeks before I go out to eat at a restaurant or so see a movie.
Just being cautious.

My biggest vendor is in Illinois and their governor just extended their stay at home order till May 30th so it doenst look like I will be getting any stock for a while.

If my company that does 99% of our business selling fricking pickup truck accessories so that bubba can trick out his yeehaw truck with an LED light bar and a leveling kit is considered essential just bc we technically also offer wheel alignments, then fishing lures and fishing guides should damn sure be an essential business. Man's gotta eat, teach a man to fish and whatnot

My company is still up and running and we have been. Now I only have one real employee other than myself and a few contract people but we have been able to keep going and honestly, business has been good. Now we had some events that got cancelled that hurt but for the most part, we have been lucky

The problem with my vendor up in Illinois is they have a good many people working there and in close quarters. Its a manufacturing place and I think they use a lot of temporary employees that sit next to each other to do assemble work and lead pouring. Plus it appear their governor is being very cautious. I was hoping they would start back up May 1 but that is not going to happen.

They manufacture all of me lead products. Basically I do the design work, have the molds built and they do the manufacturing. During the spring, I typically get 10-15 big boxes of inventory per week from them. Its just a steady flow of stuff coming in that we are either packing, adding things to, painting, building, etc. We have not received anything from them in over a month and I do not expect to see a box from them until Mid July-August. I had orders in with them when it all got shut down and that stuff should come as soon as they open and get going but anything new I order wont happen for 8 weeks or so.

What that means is, at some point between May and August, I will pretty much be out of all my essential Jigheads, spinnerbait head, drop shot weights, etc. No inventory to sell. I had a good bit of inventory when it started but we are selling well and we are just going to run out of product.

I have about 125 bins in my shop that have products they supply to me. In my 10 years of running this company, I have never had more than one of those bins empty at anytime. Right now, 18 of those bins are empty and by the end of May, 75 of them will be empty. Basically, I will be starting from scratch buying inventory in the middle of the summer

I convinced my ten year old that Cinco de Mayo is celebrated in rememberance of a Spanish ship that sunk while carrying the first shipment of mayonnaise to America.

I'm really looking forward to his class video today
