My dad died 2 years ago yesterday with >$500k in assets, with his final instructions to me to take care of my mom, then split everything three ways between my siblings and I. Suffice to say it hasn’t been as easy as it sounded then (my brother dying the day after my mom did last November didn’t help).

Yesterday, on the anniversary of my dad’s death, my sister and I got into an argument over her dragging her feet on getting the rest of her stuff out of my parent’s house so we could sell it. She dropped multiple f-bombs, and I’ve never heard her curse before in her 61 years.

And in the meantime we are dealing with not only all of my parents’ possessions, but that of my mom’s siblings (including at least a dozen 8-place settings of china and hundreds of porcelain figurines) AND her parents (dozens of boxes of papers, correspondence and photos) that my folks had stuffed away in the attic and the shed. Throw in a hurricane and its starting to get a little overwhelming.

Not many wallpaper moments tonight.
