It’s the word, “Bitch” that makes it uncomfortable? That’s the least offensive part of the chant.

This is why the schools have to shut it down - appearances. Doesn't mean people were actually harmed in any way and it isn't fun/funny. If I'm an LSU administrator, I'd have to shut it down too.

That's the part that caught me. Bitch is the least offending part of the chant.
They're literally saying to fellate an animal.
Put your mouth on the penis of a feline.
Suck the dick, of a cat.
But bitch is the worst part.

Alabama fans have been screaming we just beat the hell out of you after every game and no one seems faux outraged over that?

My thoughts:
1. Honestly, it arose organically. The word "neck" can sound like "dick" when chanted by thousands of people around drunk college students who have never heard the song before. The arm motion kind of resembles pushing a head down to receive a blowy.
2. When you think about it, is it really all that different from other profane trash talk friends yell at each other over sports, video games, etc.? I don't thinks so.
3. Is there really any way to stop it other than ejecting people over profane language? And would that really stop it? They'd just chant something else. I guess they could penalize the team, but it seems overkill.
4. Most fans aren't yelling it out of real malice. It's all in fun and intimidation. The players love it.
So, I guess what I'm saying is if you've got a problem with it, you can STTDB.

It doesn’t hurt anyone but LSU fans. Makes you look like trailer trash........even more.

Maybe Kirby should stop accepting the invitation, then.
I dunno, what do ya think?

I like it too, and LSU is the only fanbase that could pull it off, anyone else does it, it's unacceptable, but something about LSU, it feels ok. I don't know how to explain it
After LSU beat Auburn this fall I drop #PlayNeck in the group text with my LSU buddies. Some how the humility of STTDB took away the shame that I knew was coming with all the shite I talked going into the game.

Honestly though, it's because of our completely different culture origins.
South Louisiana is predominantly Catholic, the only place in the Old South that is.
Drinking is ok. Dancing is ok. Partying is ok. None of those are anything to be ashamed of here.
We are the drunk, fun Uncle of the SEC.
I lived in BR for one year (work) and when people ask me why I liked it so much, this is almost verbatim the answer I give them. It’s crazy, and it’s kind of hard to truly convey the atmosphere, but I totally get the gist of what you’re saying and completely agree. Such a cool culture down there.

LSU has always been the Bills Mafia esque fanbase of the SEC. Don't lump us into their cesspool just bc they won the natty

As an old person I kinda wish they would do it, but really I just think it’s funny

It had to have come out of someone’s head first. Some drunken visionary in the student section spouted it out and then it spread around him
I have to say, there is nothing, and I mean nothing like being in tiger stadium when the band plays Neck

I read iterations of this statement over here.
But I have yet to see any actual reports of said licking.
Really appreciate it, mate.

Expected to be trashy? Speak for yourself. I don't have an issue with it but I don't expect trashy behavior either.
