I cannot wait to watch this system get murdered in the SEC. This is the best, most fun timeline.

uhhhh... you realize he's the guru behind what LSU runs today right... he was one of the first people who ran this pass attack and other people revised it to their liking

Its not like SEC plays defense these days anymore. RPO airing it out system has transformed college football

He will do fine, especially for MSU standards

His system can function without 4-5 star athletes and can pull off 1-2 upsets annually.

Yeah totally. Pass heavy offenses never work in the SEC.

His system would be good for at least 1-2 upsets a year and can function without 5* talent, which is good for MSU. Not many SEC defenses are set up to stop that type of offense. I think it would be a good hire by MSU.

Mike Leach's true air raid is not LSU's offense lol

I think it will work very well once he gets his own guys. He’ll have far more talent to work with than he ever has

Leach will have State consistently beating a team or two they shouldn't. But it will be hard to put it all together and actually win the division.

That’s my thoughts too. It’s a good hire for what MSU is

Yes but many of the passing schemes and the whole stay in shotgun was developed by Mike Leach. like what... let me know when LSU goes under center again

The college I remember throwing it all over the yard first was BYU. Was there a pass happy bunch before that?

"There are also coaches like Urban Meyer (and his ilk), Bob Stoops, Kevin Sumlin, and Chip Kelly that took a lot from Leach’s offense without necessarily working under Leach."

Yea but this offense won't work

Kliff Kingsbury played in his offense and developed his from him.. who passed it down to Lincoln Riley... and I think those two guys are doing just fine. Man the people on this board are so clueless sometimes.

I think he'll be able to replicate what Mullen did. Maybe not the #1 ranking but in terms of consistently going to bowl games and occasionally getting to 8-9, maybe even 10 wins.

His system isn't as unique as it once was and to me because of that it's lost some of its effectiveness. But he's still a very good football coach and this was a good hire for State.

You are absolutely incorrect. If I had a program That couldn't consistently recruit top 15 talent, I would want leach over pretty much every coach available.

His scheme is a giant killer. They will sneak up and beat teams they shouldn't. It may take a couple of years to get there, but it's an incredible hire.

You don’t have a clue. College football has changed and offense is king now.

He also won’t have to use the “speed” defense because there are no DL over 250 to recruit.

Leach actually improved defense at Wazzu drastically.

He makes great staff hires.

Dont give a shite but the fricking egg bowl is going to be incredible.

The only matchup better than Kiffin vs Leach for entertainment value is Kiffin vs Grantham and in this case I'll take either.
