Hiring a guy that is passionate about the University and known for recruiting and not paying him top dollar, this leaves room to bring in great assistant coaches. Also bringing in Briles indicates they are trying to run a similar offense as well. Given LSU’s success this year it’s not really that much of a surprise but it seems obvious they are trying to follow LSU’s blueprint.

It took LSU 20 years to get a copy of The Blueprint

Not really. Those guys were coordinators before they were head coaches. Orgeron had prior head coaching experience and knew how to run a team.

Pittman is nothing like Orgeron, Kirby or Dabo

He is in the sense that he is a good recruiter that loves the school.

They could copy all they want and it won't matter. Arkansas will still be bottom feeder in the SEC West for a while.

The Briles offense is not similar to LSU's offense at all.

What blue print? Lucking into a generational QB? Lol. If they need a blue print for building a program, go copy Matt Rhule who deserved coach of the year.

Why is everyone in this thread talking like the CEO approach is LSUs thing?

More like, "LSU copied Clemson's approach". And it worked. I think it's going to work at Arkansas as well. Very pleased with the hires Pittman has made. I think it was important for him to get a guy like Barry Odom especially. Someone with knowledge of how to handle a program administratively.

I was reading the other night that when Odom was coming up the ranks under Pinkel that Pinkel had him handling the administrative duties from day one. That he was an assistant head coach before he was even an on the field coach. It's also good that he and Pittman are close friends and they can work this thing this way with Pittman likely leaning heavily on his subordinate.

I like these coaches. Not a lot of ego between them. And Briles' resume speaks for itself. That 2015 Baylor offense he ran was the 3rd best offense in NCAA History, averaging over 600 yards per game.

Plus Dabo was never a coordinator. Just a wr coach and slimy recruiter. O was one of the worst head coaches in the history of the sec. LSU is propping him up by overspending for staff and recruits.

What blueprint? How to be ordinary for a decade plus? Then finally win an SEC title and act like you've been dominant for 10 years? That's their blueprint.

Yeah, I thought Dabo was selling real estate in Alabama when Clemson hired him.
