I said from the beginning his coordinators would decide my final ruling on his hire and he hit a couple of home runs. This do this damn thing.

Not bashing you but am I mis remembering the lack of uproar for Chaggits horrendous staff build? Craddock? Jesus Christ.

Other then Caldwell, everyone was a huge pile of shite.

This is such an extremely pleasant surprise and Pittman deserves a lot of credit. This is the kind of staff that could salvage a class this late in the game.

because I thought, like everyone else, his OC was in title only as he would be the primary playcaller. There was plenty of skepticism about Chavis, myself included. Justin Stepp and Lunney were fine hires, I would put Mark Smith in that group as well. The rest, yeah.

There was a lot of WTF? with mark smith. Then he recruited well, and everyone was like OH that's why he is here.

No we didn't like the chad hires. Pittman just hired the two top coordinators on the market in a few weeks. I think it is safe to say he wasn't joking when he said he had some great coaches wanting to join him. Dude is very well respected

I’m freaking pumped, he actually followed through and put together a top notch staff. We even got Boyd coming back for his senior season. I believe we are gonna surprise next year.

I can relate to Lat here. I was disappointed after the Kiffin debacle. Pittman felt like a emergency band-aid hire.

Talking with others at the time my thoughts were that maybe with his connections he could put together a decent staff.

What he's done is hire the top guys available on both sides of the ball. I'm actually blown away at this point.

I think Kiffin falling through may prove to be a blessing in disguise and I was 100% wanting Kiffin at the time.

Let the Age of Pittman begin. Stoked as shite.

Year three we should really see what this guy is made of.

I believe most thought the university cheaped out when it came to the DC and Chad brought in the best he could with the budget given.

Reality is no one better wanted to work with him, even tho he is a Texas HS football coaching legend.

Pittman was a huge question mark of who he could get to fill his staff, obviously he was legit when he said x coach would work with me. Chad was all hat and no cattle, per usual aggy.

What is most impressive is none of these guys have a connection to Arkansas only Pittman, for Gus to make staff hires from the start, Auburn had to hold his hand and use their family connections while overpaying to bring guys like this in.

Morris didn’t help himself by saying he was going to bring in the best DC in college football. Set his fans up for disappointment right off the bat.

I was a fool on that one. After years of Willy Robinson DCs I thought Chavis was an A+ hire. I was proven wrong.

Never wanted Bert.
Never wanted Chad.

I took a wait and see about Chad, and bailed after he hired Chavis.

I wasn't sold on Pittman.
I thought Pittman could be decent though if he nailed the Coordinators and to me at this point he did.

Yeah the chatter took off to he's getting the Grinch, when it didn't happen it was "Arkansas just won't pay for top assistants".

I think you are misremembering. If I’m not mistaken, we paid Chief top 10 money, did we not? That’s when I first called bullshite on Morris, and nearly everyone tried running me off.

Coach Pittman is doing exactly what I have been wanting to see for a very long time. He is hiring a great staff and he knows what he is doing.

I have no doubt that he is the right man for the job. Good days are ahead my fellow Hog fans!

I remember when Notre Dame hired a successful high school coach,Gerry Faust, and proceeded to crash and burn. The dude was over his head, like Morris and some other of these guys.

Then I remember when auburn hired a 5-7 Chizik who was a good defensive guy but it was a wtf moment until he hired malazhn, who was at the peak of his OC career. Then I knew that could work.

Now I look at Sam,who could have been an oh crap hire but is surrounding himself with a solid staff and will recruit lights out.And loves our program like we do.

This is a solid hire by HY,like Muss.It brings energy to our program and solid recruiting for our future.

I can't get over this,it just seems too good to be true.

TLDR?

Go Hogs!
