I don't understand why the bowls are more irrelevant in the current 4-team playoff than they were in the previous 2-team system.

You know Auburn is in Alabama too right?
Pretty sure that BadBrad is a LSU fan, despite his alleged AU affiliation. If he’s legit AU, then he’s an idiot.

Wouldn't make much of a difference to me. I just see it as a full speed practice for next season.

They were already irrelevant.

If there were a lot of guys sitting it out, it would be no big deal. They would have an excuse. With everybody playing except a couple of guys, I think there would a pretty significant gump melt.

Thank you for not being an LSU fan this time.

What makes the bowl games even more irrelevant is having four "commode" bowl games after the granddaddy bowls on Jan. 1. Nothing but the natty game should be played after Jan. 1 if some semblance of notoriety is to be maintained.
I hate that as well. Playoffs should be done last after all other bowls. Prestigious bowls only should be played in January

I know y'all already view your season as a failure but how bad would it be if y'all lost to Michigan?
The last time we lost to Auburn and then went on to play in a meaningless bowl, we followed it up with a playoff berth the next year.
Of course, that was way back in 2013, and you didn't even have hair on your balls yet. So you can be forgiven for not knowing how this plays out.

Bama decline and UCF rise

It's just an exhibition game.
Bama fans are probably more interested in what happens after the game.
Based on what's being said, there's a good chance Tua is returning with Devonta Smith and possibly Henry Ruggs. Jaylen Waddle is a sophomore.
If that happens, Alabama will be the favorite to win the SEC next year.

I'll never understand this argument. When we had the BCS only one bowl determined the NC. Now that we have two games, why are all the other bowls irrelevant?

Since it happened once it is a cinch it will happen every time? But....Alabama was favored to win the SEC this year, and didn't. if they are favored to win it next year, doesn't that mean they won't?
