People thinking this is a flash in the pan year for LSU haven’t been paying attention.

Think the quarterback position will be worse next season, the defense should be better though.

When Tebow graduated, Florida’s offense was the same. When Cam graduated, Auburn’s offense was the same. When Manziel graduated, Aggy’s offense was the same.

Don’t be dumb.

As long as O keeps this same offense and continues to recruit at such a high level they will be fine.

So what you're saying is Burrow didn't really deserve all of those awards?

Like I've said before, this is just the beginning.

20 year LSU reign.

Pretty sure Malzahn bailed for Arkansas St and they didn’t run the same offense.

Also, out of those examples, only UF had anything close to the offensive talent LSU will bring back around the QB next year. Auburn and A&M were mediocre teams propped up by one guy. Whether it’s Brennan or someone else, they will have a lot of help.

Fair points. But how many of those guys improved their completion % by 20%, added 2000 more passing yards, and tripled their touchdowns in one year? LSUs offense had the same people playing last year, but a totally different scheme.

All those teams had schemes that allowed their QBs to thrive. And then when the generational talent graduated, the productivity fell. Unless you’re replacing Burrow with an equally talented and experienced player, there will be drop off. This is so simple it’s not even worth discussing.

If Brennan throws for 4500yds and 40 tds it’s a regression that I can live with.

Obviously, but LSU is not about to go back to the Stone Age offense of Les.

You’re on a sports message board you idiot, everything is a discussion

ETA: Burrow had a very average year last year. And now once he’s put into the new offense he’s a heisman winner, shattering offensive records. You think that’s a coincidence?

I’m not sure what you guys are bringing back, but that UF team lost pretty much everything other than a good line and Demps and Rainey.

Here’s the thing about LSU’s offense. Yes, I imagine it will still be good especially if Brady is still around. But their offense this year was historically good with a historically good QB.

There will be a drop off and it will probably be significant, but if I’m an LSU fan I couldn’t give less of a shite about next year right now. You’re 13-0, beat all your rivals this year, have a Heisman-trophy winning QB and a playoff berth. All with a chance to advance and play in New Orleans for the natty. Frick next year for now.

Joe Burrow SEC Play Stats before Playoff
(13 games)

4,715 yards ... 48 TDs ... 6 Ints ... 203 QBR

.85 factor ... Expected Production

4,010 yards ... 41 TDs ... 7 Ints ... 173 QBR

I’ve heard it said that we can expect .90 performance with Myles & that’s reasonable as he’s a 4th year Junior QB that could hit the lottery and go pro after his junior year ...

Don’t laugh ... This system produces success

A much stronger arm can put 70 yard passes out there while Burrow’s longest this year was just under 55 ... think about that!

Myles arm is almost as strong as Bert Jones who could throw it 80 yards ...

The question is ... How quick can he take over the job and set himself apart from Parrish and any incoming QBs ...

It’s gonna be an Amazing ride again in 2020 with an even better Defense ... Scary good team next year for sure favored to win EVERY GAME through the SECCG

What? After the win against Bama in 2012, Aggy lost 25 games in 5 years. Sumlin couldn’t keep a QB on campus.
