Will it affect his ability to secure the ball?

It was Holyfield that was gashing is the worst I think. Bad plan to stop running it for sure

Holyfield is a great back. Shelvin, Logan, Ika and Lawrence is up to the task this year. I am pretty sure you guys will be a hard out for LSU. I do not buy the blow our UGA message, but if LSU can get past 30 points, I say we have a 90% chance of winning. I think our D can hold UGA to about our season average (24).

Kirby said Swift could've re-entered the game and played, if they needed him.
But he also mentioned Swift has been dealing with a nagging shoulder issue for a few games already. So he (hasn't and) won't be 100%.
But he's still a viable threat, even nicked.

Aranda changed the alignment on the defensive front early on
Or as Orgeron put it, “That was the change, shade to shade, baby.”
A little more descriptive:
quote:
“We just ... (Aranda) told Devin White to to get in the gap because they (were) just running the draw,” said White, who had a team-high 13 tackles on the afternoon. “We really hadn’t seen the draw.
“They just made it where I overtook the gap or (middle linebacker) Jacob Phillips overtook the gap, depending on what defense we were in, and we made the nose tackle go the opposite way, and we overtook it and made the play.”
I don't know why people still want to pretend that it is just some big mystery why UGA went away from those running plays. They seem to want to ignore the fact that, after Aranda's adjustments, UGA ran the ball 4 times for just 10 yards on two 3-and-out drives in the second quarter.

Sometimes (almost all the time) fans forget that the other team has coaches too.

I don’t know that our defense has been 100% all season and likely won’t be heading into UGA. That seems to be the nature of playing in the SEC.
Viable threat or not, it would seem his ability to protect the football has been damaged. It will be interesting to see how Aranda attacks him.

Non factor. IMO anyway. We have faced quality backs and skill guys all season. Good defenses as well.
Fromm and their edge kids have to beat us consistently up and down the field. Something they’ve proven unable to do with consistency all year.
We may not hang 50, but we will win the SEC.

it's a shoulder contusion, just got popped pretty good.
The replay I saw, I didn’t pick up a hit of any kind. Guess I just missed it.

I don’t doubt LSU will win. I just wonder if the game plan changes some with his injury. I’d like to see Stevens play the line and try for the strip all game when they run Swift.

Teams hemorrhage yards when they spend too much time tryi g to strip... Will take it.

If this were a healthy Swift and a functional passing game from Fromm I would agree. We’re going to load the box, play man, and force Fromm to beat Stingley, Delpit, Vincent, Fulton, Flott, and Hampton.

He doesn't have a fumbling problem. His first fumble against Tech was his first one I can remember this season, and it was a good lick by the GT defender.
The 2nd one was the weird one where it looked like being banged up all season caught up to him.

Swift didn’t even get hit on the play where he was injured. The only thing hurt was his ego because he fumbled for the second time. He’ll be fine next week.

No joke. Dude just sat over there pouting. No ice on that bruised shoulder either.
Posted on 12/1/19 at 6:36 pm to GeorgiaBoy
If just the thought of getting hit by a GT defender makes him fumble, Delpit finna eat
Posted on 12/1/19 at 6:37 pm to TigerOnTheMountain
He’ll play, he’s good for a fumble or two a game and playing hurt with an upper
body injury is a bonus!

So we only rushed the ball in the 2nd qtr? We did average 5.6 yards per rushing play in the 2nd half but lets just cherry pick the 2nd gtr.

Imagine how bad Fromm would be without him.
You mean Fromm could be worse?

Isn’t Delpit the safety with the bum ankle? If Swift meets him in the open field he’ll have two bum ankles!
