Since they have used modern time keeping pieces
Joey Galloway has recorded the fastest 40 time of any college football player
Who is the SECs fastest player?

Trindon Holliday and Jeff Demps for starters
Leonard Scott was fast as hell too
We expand outside the SEC, Jacoby Ford

John Capel, former Florida WR in the 90's, went to 2 Olympic finals in the 200m.
Willie Gault from Tennessee, and later Chicago Bears, may be the fastest of all.

*edit SEC Bo Jackson ran a 4.20
Deangelo Hall and Mike Vick 4.15 and 4.16 at Virginia Tech
Plumlee is not Vick fast. Not even close.

Bo Jackson apparently had a 4.12 forty. Which is just frankly insane and to this day I dont believe that's accurate because theres no way a dude that big should be able to run that fast. But theres no denying his speed and athleticism.
Other than that:
Chris Johnson at ECU
Jeff Demps at Florida
Trindon Holiday at LSU
Xavier Carter at LSU
Tedd Ginn at Ohio State
Just off my head

The Dothan Antelope probably ran about a 2.8 or so. He could outrun horses and antelopes and he regularly outran Model T automobiles.
Clocks weren't invented yet so, there really wasn't a valid way to time him. Aeroplanes were pretty new back then too, but he outran them also.
It was arranged to have a cheetah brought to campus and he was faster than the cheetah.
Pop Warner said he was the fastest person he had ever seen.

Holy crap, a Bama fan starting an off-season topic in the middle of the playoff stretch run. If that isn’t a sign that the Bama dynasty is dead, i’m Not sure what is.
