I guess you didn’t read the whole post. I think my point was that quality wins matter.
I posited that if Oklahoma and Oregon finish the season with one loss they will have that quality win.
I guess I need to put a note on my post for GA fans that my take has really nothing to do with Georgia and their playoff hopes and more about the CFP committee criteria.
I read your whole post and took it as a shot at Alabama. I was just commenting on the state of the current rankings and not the end of the season.

See what happens when you fixate on one aspect and throw out other aspects? You would have a point if only one thing mattered. Funny how LSU fans like to harp on Alabama's weak schedule most of the time, then throw it out at other times.
My whole point was that good wins matter more than bad losses and that Bama is in trouble because of their weak schedule.

This can’t be right, can it?
I’m thinking that might be A&M.

I get that, and I also see where you are coming from...but I think you are being short sighted. You see a bad loss by Georgia and a "good" loss" by Alabama and then stop looking. You forget that Georgia has two good wins over ranked teams. Those trump a bad loss. Alabama has lost to the only ranked team they have played, and may not even have a win over a ranked team when the season is done.
I am not saying that Georgia is better than Alabama...simply that what is getting Alabama is their schedule, and nothing else. Ironically Alabama had a much better chance of shaking off that loss when the SEC West was head and shoulders above the east. Now that it is a bit more even, (Yes, I think LSU is the best team and MAYBE Alabama the second best team in the SEC) they have little to no chance of overcoming a loss.
IF Georgia beats Auburn and Alabama beats Auburn, then Alabama will probably have no wins against a ranked team at the end of the year. And it is not just the wins...it is that there are multiple wins. Several big wins will trump one bad loss.
Hey. This is your thread. I should have stayed out of it. I didn't mean to start an argument with you.

That rational bodes well for Oregon or Oklahoma.
Than that does not bode well for Oregon at all in your scenario.
Oregon loss to the only team they have played that is currently ranked. Their top 3 opponents with the best winning record each have a 6-4 record. Their last 3 games are against 4-5, 5-4, and 6-4 teams. So they better pray for a 1 loss team in the PAC12 CCG.
OU for that mater has only beaten one team that has one 6 games and the only other team they have beaten with a winning record is 5-4. They lost to a 6-3 KState. But OU will have the best argument at the 4 seed. As they get a shot at an undefeated Baylor probably twice and a ranked OkST. My guess is if OU wins out they will get the spot.

There are a multitude of scenarios where Bama doesn’t make it, really. Oregon, Utah, Oklahoma and Baylor all would need to finish with 2 losses and not win their conference.

History suggests they'll take Oregon
History suggests the exact opposite.
A PAC-12 team (happened to be Oregon) has only made the playoff once.
Alabama has never missed the playoff.
Bama fatigue may keep Bama out, but history proves the committee likes Bama.

App State isn't that bad of a loss for Scar, App State is ranked. The embarrassing loss for Scar is Tennessee and Missouri lol

I should say, that I think we agree....it is a matter of semantics. I should not have argued the point.

The only team right now to be a lock do to who they have left on their schedule is CU. OSU, LSU, and UGA who are in the top 4 have to win out or they stay home.

It’s not just Oregon. See my above post. If OU or Baylor win out, they are in. Bamas best scenario is a 1 loss conference champ Utah. And even that’s not guaranteed.

That is simply not true
LSU could lose in the sec title game and still sneak in, potentially

I dont know how you can miss such an obvious point.
Good wins matter. The losses look the same. Bama is where they are because they lack the good wins.
Why is this important?
Because it encourages better scheduling. And that is better for college football and college football fans.

That's not true. Every talking head has said that if we win out the reg season the SECCG outcome is irrelevant, we're in.

I don't understand why someone's opinion rattles LSU fans so bad. Not everyone thinks LSU is that great, I'm sorry. I just believe if Bama cleans up their errors they beat LSU and I think they get that chance in the first round

Maybe. Maybe not. The fact is they made those errors and lost at home to the only ranked team they've played.
There are more deserving teams this year, why should Bama get a second bite at the apple again?

Bad losses don’t matter to the CFP committee
Bama will not finish the season with a quality win. Best path is to hold out Tua to heal, win the next 2 games with a backup QB, win big over Auburn with Tua.
They also need Big 12 and Pac 12 champs to have 2+ losses and LSU to win the SEC. Then, I think they have a good shot at the playoffs.
But, honestly, they had their shot... hurt QB or not. Not a championship level defense and abysmal STs outside of the return game. 11-1 and a NY6 bowl berth would be a great year. Highlights how spoiled Bama fans have become that that is a down year.
2020 will be worse. But. 2021 should be a very good team. Especially with all the talented true freshmen contributing this year on defense.

I don't believe in the most deserving stuff. I want the best 4 and it's obvious Bama is one of the best and most talented teams. I think you know that too but you just have such a hate for Bama because of the 8 year streak
Yeah they lost their only ranked game, but it was to the number one team. They were trailing by 20 at halftime and came back to make it a game. There aren't many teams who could get down by 20 to LSU and come back and make it a game
I think the schedule stuff is out of a teams control. After listening to people say it for so long about Clemson and then seeing Clemson go and beat the best teams in the country, I just don't believe in it. I just believe that Bama gets in because if you just watch them play it is obvious that they are super talented and one of the best teams in the country
