It’s like a dumpster full of used hypodermic needles and dead babies, on fire, careening down a mountain toward a nursing home. It sucks more than cancer. There is no limit to how much it sucks. Just a collection of bad teams with bad players. Tennessee might be a playoff contender if it were in the ACC.

Clemson is the luckiest school on the planet. I hope they win out and then get a nice trip to the Citrus Bowl.

The premier programs in the conference are supposed to be Clemson, Miami, and FSU... and two of them are dumpster fires right now. If they each turn it around then it would be a fine conference.

Imagine if LSU and Bama just got bad all of a sudden, it would be similar to the modern ACC with Georgia becoming Clemson.

The answer is that outside of Clemson you have a whole bunch of average with a few spots of terrible. Schools that have been good recently took a big step back this year, traditional powers are stuck in neutral, and the basketball schools are... well... basketball schools.

This is what happens when you get wide spread parity in a conference, a lot of 4-5 and 5-4 type teams.

Perhaps all of that “southern” speed went to the other conferences?

Remember when they put the ACC championship in FL because they anticipated a bunch of FSU-Miami matchups? Instead they got a bunch of VT, GT, and BC before Clemson and FSU got their shite together.

Lack of quality coaches and all the good players in their areas go to the SEC

The same reason the Big 12 has been tossed aside for the past decade: there's one team holding the torch.

Texas being the other traditional power in the conference has done the league no favors by going through what is likely the worst decade of football in program history.

Florida State, miami, and va tech all ranging from mediocre to just flat terrible is not good for the ACC.

When a team like Baylor or Wake Forest is your second best team in the league, credibility is not going to be abundant...

FSU abdicated the throne and let Dabo have it.

The ACC is different though, while Clemson (and FSU once upon a time) dominated football as a one man show the power in the ACC resides on Tobacco Road. Butting heads with the NC schools are part of why we left the ACC in 1970 or so.

With all of that said you don't want any piece of Clemson in the playoffs. You would be happy if we were left out due to fear.

It’s always been that way. Why do you think FSU joined?

You’d think college football fans would be interested in watching the national champion play but based on tv viewership week to week, no one gives a shite about Clemson & its creampuff schedule. SEC dominates viewership followed by tOSU.
