Bama, LSU, & UGA Finish 12-1

Just curious-
Suppose LSU beats Bama (or vice-versa) in a close game, then proceed to win out the regular season, but fall to a 12-1 UGA in the SEC Championship Game.
Obviously, the SEC champ gets in, but where does that leave the CG loser? Will they be punished for losing an extra game, and would the CFP look to avoid a rematch a few weeks later?
Assuming Ohio State and Clemson remain undefeated, I couldn't see a situation where both make it, but if Ohio State drops the B10 CG, it's possible we could see a 3 team SEC - Clemson Playoff.
Food for thought!

They all get in over Clemson

You do realize LSU, Bama, and UGA all can't finish 12-1 right?

Nope im sure 2 would get in not sure if it would be CG loser or Nov 9 loser if LSU loses close and Bama gets blown out. Then Big 10 and Pac 10 champs get in as well.

Alabama would probably get the nod.

The LSU-Bama loser would be 11-1, not 12-1. I think the head to head winner would go. And no way 3 SEC teams make it unless several other champs have 3+ losses.

Yes. They can.

Even though this thread makes no sense , this is the least likely thing to happen

ETA; Ok, you got me. They can’t all have 12 wins.

How can three SEC teams finish with 13 games when there are only 12 games in the regular season and only two teams in the SECCG? How does that third team pick up a 13th game?

UGA won’t beat LSU or Bama in the SECC game so don’t worry about it.

How can LSU & Bama both go 12-1? The loser will only play 12 total games before bowls/playoffs

I dont think you've thought this out.
That said... the SECCG loser is not going to the playoff when there are other viable options. Defacto playoff game.

Wait.... he’s right. They technically all could finish with 1 loss

.Got me, too. One would be 11-1, which would probably be the criteria to keep them out of the playoff. So that gives extra incentive for Saturday.
Wow.

If it ended with one loss each for UGA, Bama and LSU
I think
LSU would be on top with a better resume over both even with a head to head loss to UGA as the one team to beat Bama in this scenario would trump anything UGA does. Even though Texas win may not be what it was it was still on the road in a tough environment
UGA with one loss still has the Notre Dame win at home as well but that is a bad USCe loss unless they somehow beat Clemson
Bama would be on outside looking in with no quality wins other than maybe Auburn who may have another UGA loss and on the road at A&M but that's about it. Duke has trended down and is fighing for bowl eligibility.

You sound like all the rest of the yahoos before the 2017 SECCG. They were wrong, too. We could beat either one. But, of course, if you say it can't happen then it can't happen right?
Tell me...did you, in your wildest dreams think Troy would beat LSU?

Would it trump beating the team (LSU) that would be ranked higher than Bama in this case?
