Not a fire Gus/keep Gus thread. Just a nice resource with interesting data on all head coaches, including their ages, years coaching and winning %. They also break it down by overall coaching records and records at current schools.

Makes sense. thUGA fired a coach that averaged 10 wins a year. Auburn gave a big raise to a coach that averages 8-5.

Interesting stats but the level of competition matters. Playing in the SECW versus weaker competing schedules. A lot of these coaches get the benefit of a soft schedule.

How many times have they lost to Tennessee?

Well, he let his top 5 team, which has 25, 5* players on it, lose to a 2-5 South Carolina team that he was favored by 20 points over at home this year.

Where is Gus's loss like that?

Just pointing out how stupid it is to base an argument as to whether or not he is a good coach based solely on his ability to beat Alabama twice.

Totally agree.

Its only a argument that can be used if you are trying to get YOUR point across.

The point was thUGA wasn’t afraid to fire a guy that averaged 10 wins, yet some on here are afraid to fire a coach that averages 8 wins.

Easy to beat up on Malzahn, but these are the goobs that approved his contract

They aren’t mutually exclusive. I’m shitting on Malzahn as the coach. Contract is a completely separate matter.

If Malzahn coached in the East, he’d easily win 10 games a season.

He’s lost the last 4 East games he played.
