If Mac Jones plays the whole game

Have heard a lot of people confident that Bama can win with Mac Jones at QB. What are the reasons yall think Mac can get it done?

If that is the case and it is known now we can game plan around having him at QB. Build a scheme that looks a lot like our 2009 offense. Pushes the defense to be their best as well. Auburn was a 3 point loss and Bo Nix played like arse.
It will be a hard game with Mac, or even Tua, but we have been in the game manager at QB situation before.

Like to believe Sark has to work a lot harder with Jones under center, more scheme based than talent.
As well as it giving the run game more time to set up, which keeps the defense off the field.

If Mac Jones can work the pocket, and make accurate throws I think yall will be fine. It's my opinion that he won't be able to sustain that all game. It was the same deal with Trask. He threw for over 300 yards against LSU at home, but he completed only about half of his throws, and I think that was the difference late in the game.
If Mac consistently gets the ball into his playmakers hands, especially downfield, it will be a battle.
My predictions:
With Tua: Bama 49 - LSU 45
Without Tua: LSU 48 - Bama 38
Either way, I think this is going to be one of the better matchups of the past decade.

Because he did well against Arkansas is all we can go on.
Sure, Arkansas is a garbage heap, but at least he didn't do badly.

Trask went blow for blow with LSU..... In Death Valley

The problem is we are going to have to match LSU blow for blow.
I think Mac could have done a fine job on past teams, I'm just not sure he can match what LSU will do drive after drive.
Take Trask as an example - he played really well for Florida most of the game. But eventually they lost serve and he and they couldn't keep up.
I'm afraid that happens to us with Mac.

I think the defense is rounding into from at the perfect time, after playing a bunch of freshmen all year, and with Lewis getting healthy. Especially if Mac played, they'd come out looking to make a statement. They're not going to shut LSU out, but I think they can hold them to ~30 points. And I think Mac and this offense can get more than that.
That said, I have zero doubt that Tua plays. Funnily enough, I think we'll need to score more points with Tua in there. But, he's obviously capable.

Mac (or whomever for Bama) will likely have a clean pocket and time to operate, while I expect Burrow to be under duress much of the afternoon. I think our pass rush and LSU's lack thereof is the story of the game. I also think Bama has the better Oline and can push LSU's front around some, not dominating per se, but enough to stay balanced run-pass. And this run game will help Mac (or whomever) tremendously.
Honestly, I think Bama is a horrible match-up for LSU. LSU will move the ball some, but they'll struggle versus our D when the field shrinks in the red zone. I believe we win and cover.
However, if I'm LSU, I target Bama's ILBs in the pass game as much as possible, and take copious deep shots, if only for the pass interference calls. I also try to run the football, both downhill and to the edges - basically continuing to attack Bama's ILB Corp. Don't turn it over, play tough, and try to get some breaks.
Personally, I think we turn them over, with Burrow throwing multiple picks.

The greatest strength of this team is the wide receivers. If Jones starts and plays the whole game, it limits the ability to maximize that strength. You'll see more bubble screens and jet sweeps and fewer verticle passing plays, although Jones did throw it deep downfield a couple of times against Arkansas. You'll probably also see LSU load the box a bit more. If we have to get into a passing duel with Burrow to keep up or come from behind, it could be a long afternoon.

I don’t think Mac could beat LSU. He’d have to play a damn perfect game and make every throw because we’re going to have to score plenty of points. It’ll be tough enough with Tua.
