I Was Right - Auburns' Defense Basically Shut Down LSU's Rushing Game

My Original Post - "Should be a low scoring affair because LSU will shut Auburn down too. But the point is, the gashing those backs did against Fl will not work against Auburn."
LSU fans, go here and read your post and see how ridiculous your replies were......and wrong. LOL
LINK /
I've been trying to gather up enough crow for all the loud mouth LSU fans to eat......difficult to find crows this time of year. (see all your replies to my prediction)
Seems I know how to analyze football teams and some people just run their mouths with some probably not even knowing the difference between a linebacker and a running back..
Given a good high school QB that could hit a receiver occasionally and Auburn would have easily won that game with that great defense.

Ummmm didn’t LSU run for 200 yards??
And pass for over 300?
The only reason Auburn had a chance in that game was the muffed punt and LSU not getting in the Endzone on 4th and goal. And a garbage Auburn touchdown at the very end aided by a phantom pass interference. And a missed LSU extra point that kept it a TD+FG game instead of a 2-score game.
Scoreboard didn’t necessarily show it, but LSU dominated Auburn on both sides of the ball.
To Auburn’s credit, though, they did not quit and clawed their way into a competitive game.
But to your OP, and given how good Auburn’s front is, it looked from my vantage point that LSU ran all over Auburn. Certainly ran the ball MUCH better than I was expecting them to against Auburn’s very talented defense.
If your definition of a great defense is giving up 500 yards to the opponent, than we clearly have very different definitions of “great defense”

Wait. 187 rushing yards is “shutting the running game down?” That includes 3 sacks...

Over 500 yards isn't "shutting down" an offense.
Auburn did a good job of limiting LSU's scoring, but at the end of the day LSU was still able to move the ball effectively. The muffed kick return, red zone interception, and the TD pass knocked down by another LSU player were huge reasons for the discrepancy between yards and points.

Huh? We ran for 187 yards. CEH had 136 yards on 26 carries. 5.2 average means he got a first down every 2 runs.
Shut down.
Shut down.

CEH and TDP combined for 30 carries for 158 yards at 5.3 yards per carry
That's not shutting down our backs

Hopefully they get shut down like this every week.

Why is it that other teams and their fan bases can say "what a" "if a" "could a" and get a free pass on that shite? I believe everyone agrees including LSU fans that Auburn has a good defense but LSU did enough to win.

And Burrow had 10 carries for 47 yards
Sooo, 40 rush attempts for 205 yards in total, but yeah we got shut down

3 sacks for -16 yards and 3 kneel down for a few more lost yards, those aren't rushing yards really.
Ends up at 40 for 205 on actual rush attempts

Too bad they didn't have a quarterback who would throw the ball worth a damn
