Their 1980 National Championship is closer to WWII than it is to today. Could’ve said this the last couple of seasons I guess but it’s really just sinking in now.

That is a fun fact. Kudos.

Tell us about the last football national championship for Carolina.

When was SC's last national championahip?

We’ve been trolled by a Kentucky fan and South Carolina fan about 1980 today.
Weird world.

Or even their last SEC championship?

I’ve seen Georgia win the same amount of football national championships as South Carolina since I’ve been alive

It must really suck to be a Georgia fan.

Here we go changing the time table to fit your narrative.

What do you mean? I made a thread about this very thing before the game even happened.
I’m nothing if not consistent.

It really is insane that a state that rich in recruiting can’t win a championship in nearly 40 years.
Think of the other talent-rich states during that time period:
Florida schools have won 11 championships despite having sharing the state between three schools
California, Louisiana, and Ohio all have a couple each
Alabama has somehow pulled in 7
I will say that as much shite as we give Georgia, Texas has only managed to win one championship as well, although it was much more recent (and they have like 40 D1 schools competing for recruits)

Well USCe beat the shite out of Bama several years ago.
Does that count?
After all some teams count a win over the Tide as good as a NC.

Well shite, now I feel old. I started attending games in '81.
It does blow my mind what the world was like just 10, 20, 30 years before I was born. The world changed fast throughout much of the 20th century. Now people just stare at their damn phones all day with little appreciation for easy they have it relative to their ancestors.

And Clemson, Auburn, and Tennessee have won a combined 5 titles since 1980 picking up your leftovers.

Being a Georgia fan I hate to bring this up but BYU also has a more recent title. Yes, BYU
Inexcusable and with this current coaching staff it doesn't look to get any better soon
