TFWIW: Rumors on Jimbo and the Saudi War

I was at an Oligarch retreat in the Swiss Alps recently and heard the following:

TAMU boosters overextended themselves with Jimbo’s contract and with Jimbo failing to deliver results on the field,



they are looking to oust him and bring in Sonny Dykes, a coach who actually understands offense but more importantly, a real texan with real Texan values.


So, a faction of Houston based oil drilling execs who also happen to be big donors at TAMU, are relying on a deal with the Saudi Government to lease drilling equipment to be able to buyout the rest of Jimbo Buyout. Now, this deal also requires the Qatar government to jump on board and form a pact with the Saudí’s to jointly lease the equipment. Otherwise, the leading deal could violate an international trade agreement with EU that limits conflicting arrangements with Saudi and Qatar.

The next problem for the Aggie boosters is that Qatar already has an equipment leasing arrangement with a French conglomerate. This deal was brokered by a famous former Parisan soccer star who also helped a Qatar media company get exclusive access to Ligue 1, the premiere French soccer league. Long story short, this Soccer player is getting in the way of the Deal



So Aggie boosters were seen in Paris with this Soccer player trying to broker a merger with the French Conglomerate to make the entire deal go through so they can fund Jimbo’s buyout. this might require the purchase of French Soccer tv rights which will be broadcast in exclusively in College station




Now, things are further complicated by a Utexas booster looking to undercut the Tamu deal by striking a similar deal with an Iranian quasi state/quasi private business syndicate. The goal of this Texas booster is to get Iran, Saudi and Qatar on the same page to strike a oil equipment leasing deal of his own. If this deal goes through, it means TAMU is likely stuck with Jimbo for the remaining 8 years on his contract.

So, in effort to break the deal with Iran, the TAMU boosters have called their friends in Washington to begin this conflict btw Iran and Saudi.
