To answer OP question, 1/4 won’t get him fired. That’s a 9-3 season with a true freshman QB.
A fair point, but also worth mentioning UGA fired their 9-3 coach and is probably ok with that decision.

Jville.
Luke Fickell- one good year at Cincy. Look at his other years loses
Bill Clark- you mean 28-15 Bill Clark who lost to western Kentuckythis year. really what is western Kentucky ranked top 10. What has he done. Absolutely nothing. Hell you would be better betting a million dollars on red in roulette. Sane odds. He could be good he could not. Not like he’s done anything impressive.
Dave Arranda- what’s his head coaching record.looked it up couldn’t find it. Once again could be good could be a like Pruitt hire at Tn.
This is SEC we just lost to a number 10 rank SEC team and y’all calling for a coaches head. And then say refs scrubs who never beat a top 10 SEC team would be better. All jville dies is bitch about Auburn and Gus. Guess we see why he got 8000 post. Maybe they need to hire you. I would like for all the complainers boss’ to judge them on same things they judge and see how long they keep a job.

I would say 99% of us work in the real world w/o buyout clauses and get judged like this on a daily/monthly/quarterly basis.
We don't have an insane inked buyout brokered by a fired University President.
CFB would be better off to go back to 500k base salaries and the rest be performance based. No guaranteed money, no buyouts. Your coach stays or goes.

Let’s see your list smart guy. The OP asked a question. Are you satisfied with losing to your top rivals every year? Do you enjoy 8-5 seasons?
And yes, I would be fired from my job if I wasn’t performing the tasks I was hired to do. I would be fired if I came into an important meeting and looked totally unprepared.

You people bringing up Clemson need to understand that if Clemson were in the SEC West, they'd look a whole lot like Texas A&M

You don't know jack shite about Bill Clark. Dude has been successful everywhere he has gone. He's one of the best high school coaches in Alabama history, barely gave up a point as DC at South Alabama, and gave Jacksonville State and UAB some of the best seasons they have ever seen. He's one of the best coaches in the country. Period. He lost a ton of talent from last year's UAB team, so he'll take some lumps this year, but it's freaking UAB! He matched their best win total his first year after they shut down the program. He got their first bowl win and conference championship in program history. Talking about one loss is some ignorant shite, dude.
Edit: spelling

So the Agggies have won 2 natties against Bama?

Yes, it'll just hammer home the fact that Gus had let us be owned by other Big 6 schools. Okay, Saban and Bama have owned everybody and Gus has done better than most vs them. But the way LSU and UGA have owned us.
We've gifted the game to LSU the last two years when it was obvious both times we were the better team. If Gus was half as competent coaching on game day and calling plays as he was at recruiting and getting us talent then we would be on a 3 game win streak vs LSU and we missed the perfect opportunity to end the drought in BR in 2017. What's worse is that game sort of legitimized Orgeron at LSU and allowed them to get to this point
Gus's shite play calling and poor game plans and preparation also handed UGA two straight over us in 2015 and 2016 when it was also obvious both times we were the better team on the field. We would also lead the all-time series by 1 game as of right now if it wasn't for those two games and Georgia would literally not have shite to say to us
It's fricking unacceptable. Florida is a good team, but the way LSU and UGA have owned us should not be allowed to happen. And the loss to Pruitt's Tennessee in JHS last year should be fireable on its own, for my money that's the worst Auburn loss of the entire decade

All I know is I would be fired from my job if I wasn’t meeting expectations. Of course, my boss wouldn’t also give me a hefty buyout clause.

F, he'd be 9-3 with a good shot at going 10-3 in the bowl game. The loses will have been to top ten teams and possibly two of those would be road games in some of the most difficult stadiums in the country.
It sucks, but we are being out recruited by 3 of our rivals. We either need a transcendent QB or a better OL.

Gus shouldn’t get fired if he goes 1/4. That’s a 9 win regular season with 3 big wins.
I’d be embarrassed if we did that.

Bo was one of the best Qb prospects in the Nation. We won't get any better at the position then him. It's our offense that makes qbs look like shite. See Stidham for example.

Bo isn't transcendent. He spent the majority of his recruitment as a 4 star because he lacks certain things. He will be a great QB, but with our OL he will have his bad days. People love to talk about the 2013 OL, but in truth they looked better than they were thanks to Nick's special gifts.

Yep, Gus at Clemson and they're building him a statue, Dabo at Auburn and we will have 100000 threads about firing him and hiring Bill Clark.

Losers mentality if there ever was one

Let's also remember that Clemson fired an overpaid underperforming HC mid-season abs replaced him with an assistant who wasn't even a coordinator. So did LSU.
Maybe we should fire Gustav and promote Garner. After all, it worked for those two programs, right?

This is BS. The whole “who would we get better than Gus” argument is BS. You go find someone. Yes Auburn isn’t Bama,Oklahoma, Ohio State, but we are in that next 10-15 tier and shouldn’t see this group especially on D go 8-4

The "who would you hire?" crowd needs to realize Gus has really not done anything special beyond Auburn's mean performance.
The "Auburn is a 8-4 team with occasional championship year" is a double-edged sword for Gus apologists because it implies just about anyone can accomplish that here and Gus isn't special.
