At what point are we going to face reality... All you have to do is watch any other team with a halfway decent QB and it’s very apparent he doesn’t stack up.

Based on today’s game vs a good defense, no. But he’s streaky. There are times he looks like the best QB in NCAA. There is not a better option for this year and I think by the end of the season he’ll be more than serviceable.

Pretty much this. We don’t have a better option, and there is that chance he will have a 2018 Clemson or 2018 LSU type of game. But he’s not consistent.
Disagree on him getting better, I think this pretty much is his potential. He’s as good as he’s going to be. He’s not going to get to 60%+ on a season.

Playing the best team in CFB on the road is such an outlier that it’s difficult to assess a lesser team based on what happens. Mond didn’t look good, but he’s also not going to face a combination of team and venue like that again until at least LSU (if at all).

I agree he has his moments. But there’s way to much erraticism with his play. Despite all the hype and excuse for his short comings, he seems to be on no different path than last year. There also seems to be a complete lack of leadership characteristics about him. Just seeing the camera pan to him on the side lines, saps my confidence. I also keep referring to my thesaurus on the term “dual threat” and I’m yet to see his name in there.

However, defense did inspire today, all things considered.

Can5 figure Mond out. He has had some great games but he has also had 3-4 of the worst games I have ever seen a multi-year starter have. Pitiful at times.

There is no one else.
He is who he is. The rest of the team could tell what the end result was going to be after the first quarter, which was why you started to see us sag. They aren’t stupid kids. Mond was cold, and they knew better than we: he wasn’t going to get hot during that game.
When he’s on, he’s great. But he’s not on consistently or even +50%.

I think we’re better off if the Georgia or Bama kids play. Flame away

Kellen should have gotten the hook when he cramped up. He had to play a perfect game for the Ag's to win against Clemson. 24-42 for 236 yds. with 2 turnovers was dreadful. If Corbin is the best RB we have this is not going to be a good season. The OL couldn't stop a stunt or blitz the entire game either.

Dude chill.
He’s serviceable and I’m tired of every year hearing our fans cry for the second place qb to step up.
There’s no point in second guessing jimbo’s evaluation. And to say “at what point are we going to face reality” after the second game of the season, when mond had an incredible show in the first game, is absolutely absurd.
I’m starting to think the LSU mod who banned me for a year did me a favor.

A good coach makes tough decisions.
Mond has happy feet on the road.
That will not cut it.
Bring in the freshman.

eh, I'll give you the advice I gave myself several years ago -- don't debate or get agitated by any posts after a loss til Monday. Usually by then the emotions are waning.
It's just much easier on your constitution.

We saw this very Mond last year. Big game on the road? Mond turns into a River Dancer.
He still has it.
I would not be surprised if we beat Auburn and Alabama, then lose on the road in disastrous fashion to Georgia and LSU. And Mond will be the reason.

All of this. He had games like this last year (Auburn and Mississippi State come to mind, he was also real bad in the second half vs LSU). He’s incredibly inconsistent but very talented. I was hoping he would put it all together before the season and he could still before it ends.
I also expect him to have games where he lights it up and just hope they come at the right time. He can be frustrating to watch but if you think Calzada is a better option you’re fooling yourself.

This isn’t a “it’s only the second game fluke”. It’s a pattern with the guy that’s been there since day one. And a left over thought process from Sumlin days. Grasp onto whatever success (stellar performance against Texas Stare) and excuse away all other failures. I’d rather have a freshman step up who could at least provide consistency and project some sort of stability to the rest of the team. Even at his best Mond still doesn’t have the presence about him that other QB’s around the league show. Lacking that we’re not going to go 10 + in the W column.

Mond has always been streaky. He was his fish year. He was last year. That's who he is. What I saw was a pretty good team that had a streaky QB have a horrible game vs one of the top teams in the country on the road.
We had a good game plan and matched up mano a mano with an elite team. I didn't see a huge talent gap. We just didn't execute on offense. So I was left feeling we can win any game left on our schedule if Good Mond shows up.
And if we can stay within striking distance of Clemson with Bad Mond, our downside is pretty low.
