So you guys believe Dan Wolken? So Dave Dorean whose name was associated with not just us but State, Arkansas, and Tennessee but didn't go to any of those of schools and got a salary bump off of it was absolutely going to be announced but Bjork was suddenly and urgently compelled to hire Luke? Never mind the massive campaign by ole miss sycophants leading up to and after the Egg Bowl about hiring the fat guy. You're expecting me to believe that Bjork, who always did whatever he wanted and said whatever he wanted, was pressured by a bunch of unidentified boosters and a few players and cratered at the last minute and called off multi million contract negotiations with another power 5 coach to give Matt Luke 3 million a year?

What are the chances Keith Carter gets the official gig? I don't know shite about how that whole process works.

Occam's razor. That's why we are stuck with Matt Luke. Ross Bjork spun a fairy tale that a bunch of people believed.

Pretty good currently. If we only win 4 games he is going to fire Luke. After that I think we will have to make him permanent.

I see us beating Vandy and NMSU so 4-8 is looking very likely (I'm assuming State will have their whole roster for us)

I agree and mercifully the Luke era will be over. Then we can move on to complaining about hiring Rich Rod or Mac

This honestly worries me. If we hire Rich Rod after what he was fired for at Arizona, then we should have no problem hiring Freeze back.
Out of those two, if I had to pick, I would take Mac. Hopefully we get someone that isn't currently here

Rich Rod or somebody close to him doesn't like it here anyway so I don't think it will be him. Mac is the guy that keeps being mentioned but he's a failure too. KC has a quite a job to step into(stating the obvious).

fcuk here's my 2 cents.

(1) quit dropping these big name coaches, they are NOT coming here. ole miss is not a big program (texas, ohio state, bama etc). but most importantly, you are in the sec west with bama. coming to the sec west is just a death sentence. coaches don't last long here.
so what do we do? easy. go for a penny stock. which is what hugh freeze was. go to some small school. pick up a guy with potential and throw him in there. if he does good, stick with him if he does does bad, dump him and repeat. basically have a short window here.
what i hated about "i bleed ole miss blood" Luke is I knew he was sh*t and I knew it'd be a while before we decide to get rid of him.

(2) we are not "young and will be better". this is a b/s excuse matt luke is says. out team is flooded with 3 stars, basically guys who's only sec offer was ole miss so they jumped on board. now the few good players:
(a) Ealy. completely over-rated. saw him at jackson prep, was something else against garbage teams, wasn't anything unique against good schools. same thing in college. at 5'9'' he will not be an every down back in the SEC. I was surprised he didn't get drafted in the 4-5 rounds in the baseball draft and took his name out...kid's actually good at baseball. My prediction is the kid will end up dropping football some time next year and focus on baseball.
(b)Plumlee - said this before, every QB does great when they first get in because teams don't know what to expect (remember Shea against A&M, hell remember Tisdale against Bama today lol). Obviously Cal didn't think this "white kid" is going to tuck the ball and run it for 60 yards his first play. Bama didn't think he'd run it and not pass it, but once they figured it by the end of the first quarter, it was game over. 109 yards rushing is great but the kid had 25 carries. completed 35% of passes when for 141 yards will not get the job done. especially when they played the run and he had 1 on 1.
It'll be nearly impossible to be a quarterback and play another sport. I think he'll switch to safety sooner or later.

I mean I hope we get better and I see ourselves beating Memphis and beating these out of conference teams. But we are no where near in competing in the SEC and won't be for years.

So let me get this straight. We hire a coach who has no business getting the job. A coach that wouldn't be hired by any other SEC school as a head coach. We then allow a interim AD who wouldn't be hired by any other SEC school to fire him and hire a new guy?

Do you not see how stupid that would be?

OM has got yo get out of OM way. Get a qualified administration and stop hiring unqualified people because of their love for OM.

If KC is hired nothing about this program has changed.

Yes that’s exactly what I’m saying is going to happen unless we win 5 or 6 games. Doesn’t mean I like it or agree with it. We could hire Pete Boone a third time to rekindle the magic. Here’s the question to noodle around: have we ever had a competent administration?

1. Nobody thinks we will hire a big name except the 247/rivals crowd.

2. We are young no doubt but we will they ever get better? That’s the real quandary.

3. A. this statement is dumb. His offensive line sucks and he’s a freshmen. He’s fast and versatile I’ll hold judgment until he gets competent enough coaching.

B. Holy crap Plumlee never had a chance today. This offensive line is awful and our pocket breaks down faster than five B. Sowells playing together. Also he’s young just like 53% of our team.

I agree with this last one but when have we been competitive? Like 30% of this decade

NCAA sanctions killed the program and we couldn’t scout and develop talent. We weren’t going to sign classes loaded with NFL talent when that happened but we needed to find some 2 and 3 stars that were solid SEC players. It didn’t happen and that’s why this roster is so young right now. 2017 class might be the worst class Ole Miss has ever signed. A lot of those guys aren’t even on the roster anymore. The 2016 class had three great players and was pretty shitty after that.

When Luke is fired I bet he’s tells everyone to not transfer. Because he’s like everyone says he’s a huge Ole Miss guy and I believe he’s classy and moral.

No big name coach is taking this job. Norvell is the only hot commodity that would give us a look but he'll get better offers. People need to get that through their head. Ole Miss is a shite job.

The obvious answer here is hiring Art Briles along with some equally slimy AD. Briles is pretty much a Texas version of Freeze from an offensive standpoint, minus the Jesus gimmick and the insatiable need to be in the limelight - which is a good thing. We have pieces on offense that if coached up will turn into extremely productive players. Briles would bring Kendal as OC/HC in waiting. We'd have a guy who can come in and bring stability, develop this talent, and pass it off to a 40 year old offensive prodigy in 4-5 years.

Although this will never happen, primarily because

1. The Ole Miss fanbase is one of the dumber collective units in all of America

2. The University/administration would be "too good" to hire Briles as they try to uphold some holier than thou approach focused more on the aesthetics of the grove, of Oxford, of the square, etc. The best coach Ole Miss has had in 50+ years, a guy who masqueraded everything that transpired behind religion as he stood on his soapbox, Bible held high, was not just sticking his dick in escorts, he was drinking heavily, sleeping with college students and married women. Ruining families in the process. Now that doesn't bother me at all, but after such a public embarrassment on a national stage, you have to take a different approach.

3. Ole Miss is a laughingstock. This isn't a desirable job. This is more or less a Texas Tech type of gig but people can't bring themselves to admit it. There is no mythical aura around Ole Miss Football. 1960 something was a long fricking time ago. No one will want this job. Ohhhhhh but Bill Clark would take it.. Yeah, probably. He'd also ruin his career in doing so. He's not all that good of a coach, either.

4. Ole Miss doesn't want to win. Let's have the Grove landscaped to perfection. Let's have all the Oxford folktales scripted for Carter Blackburn to annunciate in crystal clear quality while we're getting sodomized 31-10 by Toledo in the 3rd quarter of an 11 o'clock game. The whore, coked out sorority girls, wearing pearls with their tits out. Bow ties. Chicken tenders. THE GROVE. No one at Ole Miss really wants to win.

So here you have it. Some guy on a message board not only giving you one of the few plausible scenarios to get the program back on track, but also having a contingent plan for the next 10-15 years if this all were to work.

Art Briles is as absolutely as good as Ole Miss could do at the moment.

Most complaints about our team are valid but anybody who knows a lick about football know that effort is never the issue. Lack of talent in some areas and lack of experience in others is a problem, but not effort. Those kids played hard

This is the second time you have posted this B.S. today. Does it make you feel like a real big man to type chit like this about 19-20 year old girls on the internet?

I think this all stems from jealousy. You look around at the young coeds in the grove who never gave you the time of day when you were in school, and then you glance over at your fat wife shoving another cold Abners chicken tender down her pie hole, and it infuriates you.

I know you're just a keyboard coward and would never dream of saying this type of vile chit out loud. But if you ever did have one too many and it slipped out, I hope someone knocks your trailer trash azz out.
