Anyone else not impressed?

Barely beat Kentucky, who lost big to SC today. Barely beat ARK, who lost to Memphis and got crushed by ND. Barely beat LSU, who barely beat a trash Clemson, needed 5 INTs to barely beat FL at home at night, and has an unimpressive 23-7 win against LA Tech.

SC and FL are trash. GA is losing to Bama and hasn't been GA since 2022, Oklahoma is meh. State is surprisingly doing well.

SEC isn't SECing this year. Will probably be a bunch of meh teams that scrap together some wins to make it into the playoffs. Very possible we might be one of those teams. Also very possible this ends up being 2022 and we end up 1-5 in the last six games.

Listen guys,

we need to get off this pre-teen PMS "omg we lost to Memphis, fire everyone!" and "omg we almost beat lsu"

I'll state the obvious, LSU wasn't trying. Ed Oregon normally looks like a steaming tea pot, but for the first time ever, he didn't care.

LSU is a going to be in the playoffs, ole miss and arkansas are walk throughs for them, A&M they'll start getting serious since Georgia is next.

LSU run defense isn't good, but they don't care, they know with their offense putting up points, teams will be forced to pass. Their corners weren't good against Bama, so they went all out trying cover our guys in man to man and didn't pay attention to the run. We had a few long runs where D-lineman were in the position to make a tackle but didn't want to dive i.e. risk injury and partly because they thought someone int he secondary would make the tackle hint their safety chewing them out in the sidelines for the lack of effort. LSU is just playing to win (of course) but they aren't going balls to the wall to risk an injury. (google Bama and Tau).

Same thing Bama did last year, beat #4 LSU 29-0, #18 State 24-0, then Citadel put up 17 points against Bama. Does that mean Citadel has a better offense then LSU and State combined? Or the obvious, Bama is playing injury prevention at that point.

Will admit Joe did try (not running or risk injury) and although he'd never admit it, obviously he wants the heisman

you guys just repeat what commentators says

richie rod is actually smart. just not smart enough.
we don't run slat routes or anything up the middle because we are trying to SPREAD the defense. We are a running team and to spread the defense who stack the box is to obviously throw out and deep routes.

honestly our offense is just bama 2007-2017. only difference is bama has the best o-line and could rely on the run. sure, you might be down a score in the 1st quarter and think the games within reach, but the end of the whistle you'll lose by 30 points.

defenses are stacking the box and daring us to throw the ball. except johnny boy can not throw. aj mccarron wasn't good, but he had to complete a few easy throws every once in a while and he got that done. we can not do that. if johnny boy could throw half way okay to where defenses respect the pass game then we'd might have the best running game in the history

but as it stands, the running game is dying because defenses are stacking the box and daring us to throw. and johnny boy can't throw worth a damn so it doesn't work out.

richie rod needs to re-do the whole thing, this aint it cheif
fcuk here's my 2 cents.

(1) quit dropping these big name coaches, they are NOT coming here. ole miss is not a big program (texas, ohio state, bama etc). but most importantly, you are in the sec west with bama. coming to the sec west is just a death sentence. coaches don't last long here.
so what do we do? easy. go for a penny stock. which is what hugh freeze was. go to some small school. pick up a guy with potential and throw him in there. if he does good, stick with him if he does does bad, dump him and repeat. basically have a short window here.
what i hated about "i bleed ole miss blood" Luke is I knew he was sh*t and I knew it'd be a while before we decide to get rid of him.

(2) we are not "young and will be better". this is a b/s excuse matt luke is says. out team is flooded with 3 stars, basically guys who's only sec offer was ole miss so they jumped on board. now the few good players:
(a) Ealy. completely over-rated. saw him at jackson prep, was something else against garbage teams, wasn't anything unique against good schools. same thing in college. at 5'9'' he will not be an every down back in the SEC. I was surprised he didn't get drafted in the 4-5 rounds in the baseball draft and took his name out...kid's actually good at baseball. My prediction is the kid will end up dropping football some time next year and focus on baseball.
(b)Plumlee - said this before, every QB does great when they first get in because teams don't know what to expect (remember Shea against A&M, hell remember Tisdale against Bama today lol). Obviously Cal didn't think this "white kid" is going to tuck the ball and run it for 60 yards his first play. Bama didn't think he'd run it and not pass it, but once they figured it by the end of the first quarter, it was game over. 109 yards rushing is great but the kid had 25 carries. completed 35% of passes when for 141 yards will not get the job done. especially when they played the run and he had 1 on 1.
It'll be nearly impossible to be a quarterback and play another sport. I think he'll switch to safety sooner or later.

I mean I hope we get better and I see ourselves beating Memphis and beating these out of conference teams. But we are no where near in competing in the SEC and won't be for years.
