Enos re: freshman QB vs Florida (InsideTheU - Miami247)
quote:
“The first thing is, basically, I grade the guys on either you played well enough for us to win or you didn’t,” Enos said. “And he did not. He did not play well enough for us to win the football game. That’s first and foremost."
“We left a lot of plays on the field. Jarren left a lot of plays on the field. I was very, very disappointed from that standpoint. He did do some good things, but very inconsistent with his pocket posture, very inconsistent with his eyes — watching the rush at times, missing throws and very uncharacteristic of how he had practiced leading up to that.”
“We just have got to get him to do that from a play-to-play basis,” Enos said, “but it was frustrating from an offensive standpoint because we felt like our team played well enough to win and we didn’t hold up our end of the bargain. Certainly, very disappointed there.”

Enos re: freshman QB vs Florida (InsideTheU - Miami247)
quote:
“I have always been a guy where it didn’t matter if it was your first game or your 40th game, there is a standard of excellence,” Enos said. “If we coach and teach you how to do it, we expect you to do it every play, every rep, and every day. That is a coach’s job. We are striving for perfection. We are never going to reach perfection, but I think the standard is excellence and perfection and the closer we can get to that, the better our football team is going to be.
“In order to have championship level quarterback play, you have to hold him to that standard every day. You can’t say hey its ok, this is your first game. We understand there are going to be mistakes and growing pains, but you can’t settle and make a soft bed for them because that is going to lead to them not pushing as hard as they can on their own…I don’t see Jarren as he is. I see him how he can be.”
“I think three times in the first ten plays, Jeff Thomas is wide open—WIDE OPEN—and we don’t get him the ball for one reason or the other,” Enos said. “From a schematic standpoint, we felt good about our plan.”
“We were very aggressive,” Enos said. “On our first sack of the game, Jeff Thomas was wide open for a touchdown. Turn the tape on. He spins the guy around and is wide open for a touchdown. On the third play of the game, he is wide open on a corner route, but the right tackle doesn’t grab the four-technique…We were very aggressive with how we called the game, but there was a lot of plays that we didn’t make, but they were there for us to make.”

That second paragraph basically reads “We... I mean, he sucked”

Bama dodged a bullet when he left.

Hey Enos! Your playcalling and O-line suck arse. What a douche to throw a freshman under the bus in his first start.

For one, boy that is some public flogging for a first time redshirt freshman starter.
For two, it seemed to the untrained eye on the live viewing that he played ok.
For three, the idea that everything was good except him is......well it's pretty dumb. They couldn't block a group of old ladies.

The guy was sacked 10 times. Sure, he held the ball too long. But his OL was awful.
I wouldn't be surprised if Williams is on the transfer block before week 4.

He tried to transfer to Kentucky back in the spring and Manny talked him into staying. No wonder he wanted to come here if his coach is going to blame the loss on him

What the frick?! Eleven sacks. ELEVEN. Dude should be getting the kid treatment for his probable PTSD, not criticizing his performance. You’ll never convince me that’s coaching. What a dickhead.

This coach was at Alabama last season

Pretty tacky to bash the kid in public like that. Enos comes across as a major tool.

I thought he played pretty well for a freshman starting 1st game. The playcalling was absolutely stupid, and yes he took some unnecessary sacks but the playcalling left him out to dry several times.
You know your OL couldn't block the pass rush, why would you EVER continuously run play action 5-7 step drop plays? So dumb

His o-line gave up 10 sacks.
Way to throw your kid under the bus Enos.

I guess I was counting Enos throwing him under the bus.

Learned that from the best. Saban always blames someone or something else when he loses

Please link me an instance where Nick Saban talked about a player in the way that Dan Enos did about for 6 paragraphs.
Thanks in advance.
