Only time I have cried after a game was the 2012 SECCG. It was 2 weeks after my grandmother, who was like a 2nd mother to me and the reason I was even a UGA fan to begin with had passed away. During all of the funeral and the weeks after I had not cried to be strong for my mother and my sisters. After we lost to Bama I just sat in the hall in my apartment alone and bawled.

I can understand if it was personal. Last HS or College game kind of thing. I was referring to everyone sitting at home and watching their favorite team. I mean even if you are an alumni, is crying really a thing? I guess crying to me is reserved for the loss of a famiky member or close friend, someone/something that should actually impact your life in a direct way, instead of a bunch of dudes playing a game that is meant for entertainment. I guess I don't get the crying aspect over it.

I haven't since I was a kid.

last highschool game sucked pretty bad but I highly doubt a fan actually cries after games
My last game was winning a state championship...once we got back in the locker room, it hit everyone, it was over. Most of us had small school offers, but knowing you’ll never share a room with guys you’ve known all your life or play another meaningful down, hits like a ton of bricks. That brotherhood is never duplicated and those emotions at 17-18 are raw. I was fortunate to walk off the field winning it all, and cheers, tears, and beers were shared the same night. I can’t imagine walking off the field the last time with a head held down.
But fans shouldn’t be that invested...
But for fans....

Most people on here probably don’t cry, but many probably do act like an arse around their family and yell at their kids after a bad loss. I would rather someone cry then be an arse to their family

William Taylor cries himself to sleep every night after rewatching the 2011 Bama LSU game.

I love the sport and follow it closely. But do any of you admittedly cry over it? I have never cried over a game. I have been pissed, cussed at the game, chugged some beers over it. But crying? Just asinine reading some of the threads on here. I thought crying qas reserved for special moments in life (good or bad). Not over a damn game.
Agree wholeheartedly. I don't get it either.
I will admit to throwing my hat on the ground a time or two.

Yes.
I live for football
It just means more

I think some people cry because of the nostalgia linked to games --- i.e. past experiences with family or friends who are no longer with us.
And of course some kids cry.
And finally, a lot of drunk people will cry about all kinds of shite.

Nothing wrong with kid crying or crying over a lost loved one, but the 3rd reason is not acceptable.

I shed a tear when we won the title. Never over a loss though

Cry no, but I do care too much. It takes me a couple of hours to wind down after a big game, win or lose. We’ve been so shitty lately that it hasn’t been a problem.

Alabama fans cry after losing

I have cried during a football game but not over a football game.
Several years ago, back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth and I still had all my hair, I made the mistake of fixing chili (with extra chopped onions) during a football game and learned the hard way it is mighty difficult to watch the game when your eyes are watering.
I love football, don't get me wrong, but I'm not going to go into full on Ole Yeller mode over it.

If football "means more", then maybe you should look inwards. Like I said, I love the sport, it's pretty much the greatest sport of our time, but there is so much more to think about in this world.

If you haven't cussed, thrown your hat to the ground, and then sunk into a profound state of unhappiness you aren't truly a football fan.
