I have heard good things about Madison before.

Everyone loves their own school’s town, just as they should.
I loathe these threads (not directed at OP).
If you can’t have a heckuva good time in any P5 college town, the problem lies with you.

have you been to columbia? When I went up there for a game I was pleasantly surprised by the main downtown area and how closely it reminded me of athens. It's not exactly the same of course, but had a similar layout and "feel" to it. I don't know near enoguh about the landscape of towns from coast to coast to say where it shoudl rank or if it's too high or too low, but I wouldn't scoff at it being on some of these lists.

Columbia missouri ahead of Boulder is one of the better jokes I've heard on here.

CoMo is a great town.
We’ve been twice and thoroughly enjoyed our trip both times.
If you haven’t been, add it to your list.

I loved everything about our trips to Boulder.
The hotels. The bars. The scenery. The overall vibe.
But the people were flat-out ugly, in terms of personality.
And I’m about as easy going a person as they come.
If it was a one-time deal, I’d hold my tongue; but it wasn’t.
Never had that problem in CoMo.
But obviously attending a game in the foothills of the Rockies is a cool experience.
Their fans just leave much to be desired (and they don’t give a lick about football).

I think even UT folk would agree that Knoxville is more of a Medium sized city than a college town...
All my UT buddies flipped when they came to Athens for a weekend. They had no idea what a college town could be.

My exact thoughts... If you can't have fun in a place where fun should be the easiest thing to find your probably lame asf

So they need to make their mind up. Boulder top 10 town but no way it has game day atmosphere like A&M. A&M top 10 game day atmosphere but doesn't sniff Boulder as a town to visit/live.

Everyone on this thread is going to cry a river because COMO is on this list... but they have probably never been. Pretty fun place for being in the middle of Missouri...

They must have felt sorry for them having to look at that anorexic tiger.

List is shite: No Chapel Hill....and
includes Knoxville. Nobody thinks of Knoxville as a college town. It may be a nice small to mid size city but no college town in the classic sense of the word.

My last comment (I’ve responded too much in this thread), but this is nuts ....
College Station is an hour from Houston.
Less if you’re on the NW side of town.
But maybe an hour is far for some people?
Guess it’s all relative.
