Can't argue with overall placement but I'm a bit surprised that AU was only ranked 1 ahead of Bama for facilities.

Ole Miss at #9 in facilities automatically invalidates this entire poll. Their arena is #3 in the league.

Ole Miss has some of the best facilities with a new arena and a ten year old practice facility. You could argue Ole Miss is a terrible job but it isn’t because of facilities.

Goodman has been obsessed with State since he was wrong about Rick Ray being a great coach

At UGA, basketball's never garnered much support. Even with the women's program that was among the top 3 in the nation back in the 1980's and '90's, it was difficult to get the support they needed.

UGA has the #1 recruiting base? If so, UGA ought to be doing much better.

In the chart, I was really expecting UGA to be at least next-to-last; I'll take #10.

Yeah....it didnt really make sense. GA has a lot of great HS players....some come to UK, some go to UNC, some to UGA or GT etc.

But if that's what recruiting base is (in state) then KY should be waaay down and not #3. Id say TX has the best in state recruiting base.

So you have to assume they mean more than just your state....how far and wide you can pull. In which case UGA is definitely not #1.

Just wish theyd give some more clarification on some of their choices, interesting discussion stuff if nothing else.

Probably talking about the Atlanta area. Auburn has pulled several from there since Pearl arrived. Harper, Chuma, Bryce Brown, etc.

Just no. Tennessee, Florida, Arkansas, Kentucky are all better for sure. So, #5 AT BEST for Ole Miss.

Donovan's work here was every bit as big as Spurriers. Will always love Billy for his time him. Wish he would come back home later in some form, even if not head coach like Spurrier did.

I would probably rank Vandy ahead of Georgia on that list. They have had more teams that competed for and won the SEC title than Georgia.

Are Florida & Missouri's facilities really better than Tennessee's? Tennessee has a much nicer arena than both, but I don't know about practice facilities etc

No. Tennessee’s facilities are only behind UK.

NCAA.com had an article a while back that ranked football and men's basketball combined and both Ark and Tenn were in the top 10 (tied at no. 9 all time). The surprise for a lot of folks (not a big one if you follow basketball more closely) was that Alabama was also on the list (tied for 4th**).

**Obviously, football boosted them quite a bit but Bama's basketball program has a very solid history that's often overlooked.

Bama, Ark, and Tenn were the only three SEC teams on the list and all three were in the top 10.

They completely ignored titles though. It's based entirely on win %.

I don’t possibly have the information necessary in all of those categories to offer an educated opinion, but I bristle anytime I see that kind of disrespect for Mississippi State. That’s insulting and inaccurate in my experience. It’s one of the games I always look forward to. Especially when it’s at The Hump. It sure seems like a fun setting to me and they’ve been more consistent over the years at being a legit opponent than much of the league.

And as someone pointed out, the whole Starkville sucks bit is tedious and technically isn’t even included in the categories so why the dig?

Tennessee’s arena does nothing for me. Sure, its got a lot of seats but its outdated, ugly, and the athosphere suffers from its size.

I think Florida (thanks to renovations and atmosphere is indeed superior). Mizzou is a great setting as are Arkansas and Vandy.

A&M is decent when they are playing well but a little bland. Ole Miss and Auburn are both nice as well but i would like to see them before commenting, they are both fairly new.

Rupp obviously has a ton of history and renovations have made it very nice but the original concept is really quite terrible. All of the other blue bloods have nicer arenas.

Pretty shite chart. Ole Miss has a pathetic history in basketball, but ranking our facilities at #9 is laughable. We now have among the top facilities in the conference.

Tennessees arena is not outdated at all. They just did a massive and expensive renovation. It looks like a NBA arena on the inside now.

I’ve been to every arena in the league outside of The Hump. It is probably the most aesthetically pleasing arena in the league on the interior overall. It’s missing some fan amenenties that Ole Miss and to a lesser extent Auburn have on the concourse level, but it’s a 21K seat arena that has a very modern interior look.
