Obviously not much to choose from but we did have teams better '80.
The '82 team that went 11-0 and lost to Penn State in the NC game was better IMO
Our teams in '02,'07 and '12 were all capable of winning a NC and we all know what happened in '17

Just making it to the final four was the best I’ve seen

2011 Alabama #1. A monster of a team. They also blasted the second best team in the SEC in the past decade, 2011 LSU.

Look, I get that these Clemson shitposters are awful, but you have to admit, you KNOW you've heard more than a few people each week who barely pronounce all the syllables in South Carolina... he's not wrong on this point...
I've spent enough time in Columbia, Orangeburg, Clemson, and Greenville to know it's not even all that regionalized within the state.

2015 was probably the best Bama team I saw even though they lost a game. They played the toughest schedule in the nation that year (9 teams were ranked when played, 8 teams finished ranked, 13 made bowls/had winning records). They were very balanced on offense: 3,000+ yard passer, 2,000+ yard rusher, and 1,000+ yard receiver. The D was #3 in total defense, #1 in rushing defense, #8 in passing efficiency defense, and #3 in scoring defense. Individually, they had 4 consensus All-Americans along with the Heisman and Rimington winners.
2009 and 2012 would've been a fairly close second/third. I think the '12 offensive line was one of the best in history; the 2009 team had a strong defense/running team but weren't as polished with their passing game. 2011 had a great D but their schedule wasn't as strong as either '15 or '12; the same can be said for the '79 team.
1992 was my favorite Bama team, but they won solely on their defense; that was probably the best college defense I ever saw, they were fun to watch.
The 1973 team might've been up there had they not lost the heartbreaker to Notre Dame. Even with Lane Kiffin's offenses and Tua's record breaking season last year, that '73 team probably had the most explosive offensive team I ever saw at Bama. Some of their offensive school records weren't broken till this decade and there's at least two that'll probably never be (828 total yards and 748 rushing yards, in one game).

I agree with you on '95 Nebraska; best team I've ever seen. No one came even close to beating them...and they destroyed an undefeated Florida team that dominated the SEC that year. I think they only trailed one time all year and that was in a game they easily won.
The 2001 Miami gets all its 'greatest ever' accolades due to the players they had drafted in the NFL; granted they may have had the most NFL talent of any college team ever. They were a great team but they had two games they came very close to losing (Virginia Tech & Boston College who both finished with 4 losses) and their SOS was not particularly high. The highest ranked team they played that season finished ranked #8. That team was Nebraska who was the first team to play in the National Championship game despite failing to win their division...

For Alabama,
1992 was probably my favorite. Bama's 1st national championship since the Bear Bryant years and they completely embarrassed Miami with that defense.
2009, my second, because Saban brought Bama out of the wilderness of probation, coaches carousel, & middle to bottom of SEC play. Plus they destroyed Texas.
2017 next because of the ending 2nd and 26. Bama's 2nd national championship win over a conference rival. Plus they broke Georgia's heart.
2011, proved Saban wasn't a one-shot coach plus they destroyed LSU, the 1st win over a conference rival.
2012, because it was a back-to-back national championship. Gave Bama the record of the only school to have consecutive AP national championships 3 times. Plus they destroyed Notre Dame.
Then 2015 & all the other ones.
